I'd remind folks that 1.6% of the searches does not equal 1.6% of the websites in the world. The October 14th update affected only a relatively small number of searches, but hit many more websites.

    I love the high minded sounding rationale that Google always uses when they make a change that hurts some people over others.

    It ain't always so. Many times it is to cut out their own competition. Like when they do anything and everything to get rid of anything done by affiliate marketers.

      Dude comon, if you're trying to game their system and you're buying links and whatnot, then you deserve to get hit. I don't say that to be mean, but it's true.
