Right guys my next plan is this: I was thinking about targeting 1 main niche such as "Weight Loss" and within that write articles that are specific to microniches within "Weight Loss". I was going to create 100 articles with 2-3 Adsense links on each all written for SEO ofcourse. I was going to play them on Squidoo, but would i be better off placing that kind of information on my own domain? If i did do it on my own domain then should i buy an aged domain or just create from buy a new one or does it not matter?

Honestly, I don't think this strategy will work at all. This is a very saturated niche, and you just won't get the traffic from google. If you have a good method to get traffic there, then that is great, but don't count on google doing that for you. The real secret in making a website people love. When you get that right, you will have profits, traffic and a good feeling about what you did.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

The niche you are targeting is already saturated with tons of resources. So instead of doing what others do, offer your visitors something unique. That way you can outrank your competitors quite easily.

You said such as "weight loss", so I am assuming you are just using that niche as an example!

I would place all the articles on my own site to build-up authority, but not all at once. I will firstly break all sub-niches into categories and target one category at a time. In this way you can SEO each category/article separately and not kill yourself in the process

Personally, I will go with an aged domain if there is a good brandable domain available, but I will go with a new domain if I can't find a suitable aged domain as I will view this as a long-term project!

Maybe i did not word it the easiest but you are correct it was just an example of weight loss. I have been solely into the gaming niche of which i earn about 3-4k unique visitors monthly but Adsense is little to nothing. The main question was Should i put 100 articles on Squidoo or on my own domain

How successful have you people been with Squidoo? I have not used it at all

The best area's it seems to go into is Weight Loss/Health/Green/Relationships are the best categories to go into. This is why i was thinking about going into these areas with this new project

100 articles on a site you don't own? Why would you want to risk that?

A simple change of the Squidoo ToS and you could lose the lot.

        Check out this thread http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...ens-issue.html

        Always own your own domain.

I see, i have read over a few posts in that topic just now and it seems they just remove posts as you have to keep maintaining them to make sure they rank above 400k. This could prove to be difficult when reaching over 50 to keep them all up to date.

From the topic so far it seems best way is to make it all current on my own website. As for driving traffic i will make each article related to 1 keyword and change keyword for each article using long tail keywords for each article whilst reaching for the bigger keywords also.

My problem now is if i am trying to find a brandable domain what sort of age would be useful, i know the older the better but if i was to purchase a 2 year old domain would it be just as good to use a new one? Do you guys try and have a minimum such as 5+ or 7+ ?

Your host could shut you down at any minute.
            So, are you worried?

I don't get this panic nonsense.

            Squidoo is a powerhouse. Period.

            If done correctly.

I have well over 100 "articles" on squidoo.

Never worry about getting shut down.

But then, I am of a different mindset.

I'm not worried about much, as I don't do things
to keep me awake at night worried.

But if you are worried, then get off the net.

Because anyone at any time can take your domain
and website. Has nothing to do with not "owning"
            something.

That's like saying, don't use youtube like the rest
of the planet because google will shut you down.

Stop doing things that get you shut down. And if you
keep it up, there's always a google de-index. Oh but
you still own the website, right? So?

            Get a grip people.

Place the articles on your own site if you good at SEO and can get your site ranked!

When I spoke of categories I meant one category for each of your sub-niches in the weight loss market on one site (your site), like:

    Category one: teenage weight loss
Category two: weight loss after pregnancy
Category three: weight loss for woman
    Category four: animal weight loss

... and so on and so forth!

I've never used Squidoo so I can't help with that.

I do use blogspot on a couple of my sites, people on this forum always say things like "Don't use blogger, they will shut you down", lol, yea right, like I'm going to give up 100% free money (that will never happen).

Sure they could shut me down, but my first site I ever created is still live on blogger today & never missed a day for earning money. I started that first site over 5 years ago.

I also have a few other sites that are self hosted on Hostgator running Wordpress that do well.

I'm not knocking Squidoo, If I had 100 articles of unique content I would lean toward building my own niche site, build the site out to an authority site. The only reason I would go with my own site is I'm a freak about internal linking relevant pages. I also try to keep my pages as simple as possible, no clutter on the pages.

Simple clean looking pages help boost CTR on Ads.

I don't like giving my traffic very many choices to make, I basically lead them down a virtual path, so long as they stay on my site. I kinda doubt you can do that on any type of page that you don't control the html 100%.
