preferably with EMD and to be used for a niche site or affiliate site - some people complain they take an age, even using MNF or MS to find gold in them there hills while others seem to be able to reel off keywords almost at will

what is the secret of finding a good keyword relatively quickly?

How long, on average does it take you to find one?

What tools do you use to help you on this quest and finally is market samurai a busted flush?

It all comes down to picking a niche. There are thousands of places to find a niche seed keyword. Then it's all about using a automation tool to speed up the process. Keyword research can be done manually but with time, which most of us haven't got.

Current keyword research tools i personally use are :

    Longtail pro
    Ultimate niche finder
    Market samurai (to check competition)

With those tools alone i can find up to 10+ Emd keywords daily.

    Regards,

You should check out Jeremy Wilson's sticky post in the SEO section on keyword research. He puts a brilliant new spin on the research process and focuses on proven low competition.

The WSO in my sig is based on his keyword research method.

basically what I am asking is for a timeframe from opening your keyword tool to finding a golden keyword?

i know sometimes it takes a while and sometimes you get lucky and stumble upon something quickly but on average how long does it take you, feel free to explain your method if you wish

It takes about 15-20 minutes for me to set up the information in a way that I can easily manipulate. And then I can find a dozen good keywords with the information I've collected. This is what I do here.

Sidenote: It looks boring and simple at the beginning. But if you follow it to the end, you'll see why my method is so effective. Literally organizes THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of keywords so that I can manipulate the data in just about any way I see fit.

It really varies for me, once I found like a dozen great emds in less than an hour, but other times I only come across mediocre ones. Probably depends on the seed keywords.

It's been more than 3 days and I'm yet to find the good keywords for my client's niche. Well, the niche is Discount coupons and you know how competitive it is.

Why it's delaying is 'there are many brands on generic discount related terms', so i'm researching every possible keyword to understand if users are searching for that particular generic named brand or general searches'. Ofcourse it's taking me really long time, but once i'm done with it, my client would be the one benefited a lot.
