Regional google

Hey guys, I've recently discovered this forum and after readingany threads I have taken the plunge and started an online business!
One question I have and can't find an answer for is regarding regional googles. I bought a dot org and have the website up and running, however the website is only intended for Australia and I am no where to be seen in google.com.au! I am on page one in google.com though! I can't buy the .com.au as apparently only Australian business can buy this extension!
So my question is as follows. Will google.com.au pick me up eventually or do I need to do something specific?
