Live seo study on an existing site (thread 2)

I have a thread that i have been doing for a couple of weeks where I have taken a new site and am trying to get some good serps for this brand new site using as white hat techniques as possible.

In this thread I am going to use the same techniques to see the effect they have on an existing site. The site is about 3 years old and i am going to try the effects on an inner page that does not currently rank for the keyword (as far as i can tell anyway!).

The keyword i am targeting has about 5000 exact monthly searches and "high" competition. The page i am targeting has been around for some time and has high quality content on it.

The first thing I am going to do is create the content that i am going to use. I am going to get 11 high quality articles (some about the keyword, some about the general subject) all with spin tags and also create a youtube video about the keyword.

I should hopefully have the content ready in the next couple of days and will come back here at that point.
