I'm A Flippa First-Timer with 85 sites to sell - Advice Needed

I have ~86 websites that have made me $10,000 in the past year, and I want to sell them off in order to invest the money in other things. The only problem is...

...I've never used Flippa!

Any tips or advice that you Flippa experts could give me? I think it would be kind of hard to sell each site individually, so I'd like to sell all 86 in one listing. That way, too, I'd only have to pay one listing fee. Please give me any advice about Flippa that you have. Thanks!

P.S. Any advice you give isn't just going to be good for me, but good for anybody else reading this thread and wanting to sell on Flippa!

I'm interested in the sites that don't make you any money or very little bit if they have some PR. Send me a pm please.

Whatever you do, do not lump them together. You will get less than you would if they were sold individually or in groups of no more than 2-5 CLOSELY related sites.

Write detailed posts, explaining what each site is about. Provide as much data and screenshots for the traffic and revenue sources. Set a reserve price on each auction, and start the bidding at $1. Be responsive to questions that are asked.

You say you'd only have to pay one listing fee. Really? It's only 19 + 50 for a home page feature. If you create a good auction copy, you will get back that $69 and more.

Each site is probably only worth about $120, so I'd hate to spend $69 to list each one of them individually and only make $50 per site. Not to mention all the time and data gathering (earnings reports, analytics, etc.) for 86 separate sites; it would take forever and cost a lot. If I list them as a whole in one listing, data gathering is easier, and the total listing fee is only $69 ($19+50), as opposed to total listing fees of $5900+ to list each one individually.

Am I just thinking this through the wrong way or going about this wrong?

I need some tips to list better auctions on Flippa. Sold like 10 sites so far but need a serious bump in $$.

    All tips welcome.

So far I have great copy, great design, and proven sales and analytics.
I think I need to do a better job of advertising my auction sites. Is there a place on the web that would gain maximum exposure for my auction URL for say a 3 day auction?

I imagine you could get near asking price for small groups of sites without even listing on Flippa (no fee).

Why not keep them for another year, pocket $10,000, then
shut them down. Costing you zero.

According to my math, they each make about $9.60 a month.

They aint worth buying, unless there are a few gems with
    some PR and domain power.

I would respectfully disagree with the people above. If you could
do a package deal, $100 each, boom. You might get a taker.

But even $100 would be stretching the value.

A site that makes $10 or less a month might as well make zero.

Not a lot of selling power with those numbers. $50/month is the
minimum I would ever look at.

You have got to sell potential, and in this economy it might be
    a tough sell.

This would actually be the smartest thing for me to do, especially since I'm not in any rush for the cash. I even thought about building another, say, 500-1000 niche sites and just let them do their thing as well. The only thing holding me back from that was just the fact that Google is always doing crazy things (a lot more crazy things than normal) these days, and I'd hate to blow that money building 500+ more sites and never see a penny from them.

It would actually be about the dumbest thing you could do. Just throw away $10,000 with no compensation? Are you kidding me?

Here's a thought....before doing something THAT stupid, why don't you actually try to sell a couple of sites there to see what you can get for them? I'd rather get $50 a site than zero.

Buy upgrades... you have to get your listings noticed. The feature upgrade is 50 dollars but if you have revenue and traffic to the site then it's like gold for the buyers.
Buy your first featured listing as soon as your site drops from the new listings page. You should get lots of bids because it's a quality site.

You should get into the most active bid section (I believe it's over 12 bids, it might be 10). You should get even more attention and probably more bids. Sites in the most acitve bids section are more popular because it shows that many people are willing to buy your product, a quality site that should make money for them in return.

On the last day, do a another feature listing upgrade for your site, but... only if it dropped off the main page, or you haven't hit your reserve price yet. If you didn't know already the reserve allows you to set the price on how low you're willing to sell the site.

I think you will do well on flippa because you have sites that make money. That's a gigantic plus! You should get bids for sure! It does take some money to get featured listings but having a site featured helps big time, and will get your site noticed quickly. The more attention, the better you will fare, in my opinion. I think it's worth the upgrades, you want as many people to notice your bid as possible. The more views, the more bids...

From experience the best way to get the most money from bulk flipping is to make sure they're all in the same "niche" or market... So if you have 10 websites that relate to working out, you'll get good money for them! Plus, that limits the fees that you would have to pay if you sell them individually.

You got to be kidding me, I'm about to do the same thing. 78 sites here (already sold a bunch of others off; what a pain to do one by one, which is how I found this thread!). I haven't seen any bulk listings on Flippa like what you're referring to, so maybe I'll be the guinea pig and and try it and see what happens. I'll keep the thread posted.

Adsenseflippers have sold sites many times in a bunch of 20 at the same time and sold it for awesome prices, they got like 20-24*monthly.

If you think $100/month for a grand total of around 20 sites is decent money

They sold it for $2350,- if I remember correctly.

I love adsense flippas but they have been traditionally creating very thin adsense sites that I have seen purchasers complain were deindexed or lost ranking heavily.

That is the basic issue with the micro MFA scene - it is a LOT of money and work to actually get these sites ranked and to keep them ranked.

The MFA concept is ok, but I would recommend that anyone trying to pursue it build out sites with at least 10-20 pages of content.

I agree. List them on here. I wouldn't mind taking a look through and picking up 5-10 if they are around $100 a pop like you mentioned.

I just updated my listing with a "featured" upgrade to list it in the Featured Listings. I never did that before with other sites. Does anyone think it's worth the $50?

In response to my previous post, yes, a featured listing helps. It costs $50, but it's worth it if the profit from your site(s) is greater than your listing fees by whatever you want your net gain to be. The auction ended at $2000 without reaching the reserve price. I may re-list it, but if anyone wants to make an offer, check out the listing and, well, make an offer!

What I'm learning from my own looking around at flippa is that you have to have either proven traffic or proven earnings to really get the bids pumping. Otherwise you'd be lucky to get a $50 bid no matter how well designed is the website.

If you do decide to ever sell on FLIPPA pleaseeeeee remove the adsense code from your site during the auction. We ran into this issue and actually got our 4 year account banned because of the "quality of traffic" we were receiving during the auction time.

Also, when people click on your site from an auction they "frame" your site I believe which is also against TOS.

So yeah.if you sell on flippa, take out your ads.
