Does Google look @ Bounce rate the same way as our Analytics does

i have heard that bounce rate is a major player since panda (well maybe not major but something a little bit more stressed)

In analytics tracking, there is a way to track an event (clicking on a link) as not something to factor in to your bounce rate. Wouldn't this allow you to artificially make your bounce rate look a lot better? Or does googles robots have a separate method for calculating bounce rate when it comes to positioning in the SERPs?

The code I am talking about is described as

"non-interaction (optional)A boolean that when set to true, indicates that the event hit will not be used in bounce-rate calculation."

Cheers!

Not sure if this is related to your question, but it's my understanding that Google's algo puts importance on the time between when a searcher clicks on your link and the time they hit the back button and return to the serps and click on another link.

In other words, if a searcher clicks your link from the serp and rapidly returns to the serp it tells the algo your page was either not relevent to thier search, or your page is of dubious quality, or things to that effect.

So a ratio of time on site to back button reaction is something that is tracked.

Ideally, the serp would provide you with relevent links and your time on site would show the algo Google is indeed providing good links.

Given that the first page of the serps is deemed valuable real estate for their purposes, tracking the time between clicking on a link and returning to the serps is a valuable metric.

Agreed with that. Google does not use your actual Analytics data for ranking. They use other signals, like Bill showed above.

Well, there is the notion that content matters, so if you think backlinks are the only thing that matters you may want to do some reading on the subject.

Backlinks have nothing to do with bounce rates, btw.

I just solved that problem placing gorgeous girls doing a strip for 15 minutes. No more bounce rate issues here!!

Seriously, why anyone (in a competitive market) would use Analytics from Google? Just to feed them everything about YOUR site? Beats me.
