Are you having the same problem with Backlink checkers?

I check the backlinks for my blogs quite often, and I noticed that it usually takes a few days for a new link to appear in the stats.

But lately, even though I made lots of links through commenting on other sites, posting on forums and social media websites, they don’t appear on my stats. After 20 days the number of backlinks didn't changed at all!

I tried more backlink checkers, but still with the same result. So my question is: have anyone else had this problem too? Is it something about the link checkers? Or is it something about my website? (the bodybuilding blog in my signature)

No that means that these backlinks are either not indexed yet, or nofollow backlinks.

    Cheers

After a while, trying to monitor how many back links your hard work is generating becomes a major time waster (and you don't even realize it).

Back link checkers will give you different results sometimes (unfortunately).

If the back links you are generating are for niche sites, let your ranking on google or other search engines determine if your back linking strategy is working or not.

This was a good piece of advice another warrior in this forum gave to me - at the end of the day it saves me time (and stress). Hope this helps - keep up the hard work and let the search engines (or whatever channel you're using) tell you how your back linking strategy is doing.

I actually use the backlink tool in Google Webmaster Tools, it seems to work really well and gives you a lot more results than the link:www.domain.com which gives you almost no results it seems

Which backlink checkers are you using?

Sometimes it can take a few days or weeks to get indexed.

I am using the best ranking sites on google for "backlink checker" - Backlink Watch and Domain Pop . Usually with these ones I get around 100 backlinks for my fitness blog and around 900 for the music blog.

After reading some threads from here I also discovered Majestic SEO. So I tried it today and it showed me something totally different!! For my fitness blog - 1.000 links and for the other - 5.000 links! WTF?

So which one of these is more accurate?

None of these services, even Google's webmaster tools, will ever give 100% accurate information, due to the sheer size of the web and how the crawlers work. If none of a large group of links got indexed after a lengthy time frame you may want to investigate whether those pages have been deindexed on Google however
