So that's my question. To be honest I've asked this question before and yet to receive a suitable response. It generally goes something like this...
- It's the best because I like it!
- It's the best because I use it!
- It's the best because I say so!

Understood?
are we clear?

So what is the E-Commerce Platform for SEO and WHY do you believe that to be the case??

Also it should be user friendly for a basic or intermediate user not a hard-core or advanced developer etc.

I look forward to your responses!

I've always found Prestashop to be very good.

Good quick load times, extensive Meta customisation etc etc.

    Hi,

From my point of view WordPress is great for a e-commerce site, I have already build a couple of them in my country, below are some reasons:
    - WordPress is fast and easy to use.
    - It has a lot of plugin that you can use.
    - IT has a lot of themes from where you can choose for a design.
    - The informations about WordPress on the internet are a lot.
    - It optimized for SEO, plugins can be used if the theme is missing something.

My vote goes for two. Magento and PrestaShop. if you are techie, go for Magento. If not, go for PrestaShop.

PrestaShop is what i am sticking with right now , Magento seems to be overly complicated for me.
The other two you can consider are

    - Shopify
    - Bigcommerce

Long term, magento has been the most stable and rewarding for me. I'm sticking with it. The Extensions are good as well

Most are similar imo as far as SEO these days and I would not base my choice of ecommerce platform on SEO. In the long run, the ease of use, ease of instal, performance, etc. are much more important. Remember, load times also impact 'SEO' as well.

Magento is great but you have to have a good theme and plenty of resources for it to run smoothly.
