I know most of you don't understand why their page rank is not increasing while they keep building links.

will let me explain something:

1. If you are seeking high search engine ranking, it has nothing to do with page rank, you can get very high search engine ranking and even top position and overrun higher page rank sites if you keep marketing and building back links without increasing your page rank that shows by google toolbar. I have a PR3 page that is on Google first, and the second place is PR5 while in the second page there is a PR6 site. so it does not mean that higher PR will be higher in the actual search engine ranking.

2. why page rank do not change even when you are getting backlinks from high PR pages. will it's simple thee are other factores to calculate page rank other than backlinks, one of them is how many outbound links you have on the page. each outbound link will decease the page rank you have.

most SEO companies recommend up to 5 outbound links in your home page, No one know the truth of the best nomber, but one fact is known, if you are linking out, make sure you are linking to high authority sites, and do not link to low value and spammed sites. Do not just link out, minimize the links on each page of your site to the minimum you can afford.

It's not simple to calculate the actual page rank, but one think is simple, keep marketing, building high quality backlinks and make your goal the actual search engine ranking not the page rank.

Good luck

I think most of webmasters know very well about it.To increase page rank means build backlinks from do follow and high PR websites. But I don't think high PR is much important than high SERP.

You missed the most important and obvious one:

    3. The public Page Rank score is only updated a few times a year.

There's quite a lot you didn't cover and quite a lot of speculation here as well. Please readers, don't take this all as fact.

The first paragraph of your post is right. Pagerank is not everything and higher pagerank doesn't mean higher position in Google generally without noting to other factors. There are multiple parameters for ranking results and pagerank is only one of them.

To get more lead and conversion, one site needs to rank higher on search engine instead of having higher PageRank. So keep working on building backlinks and improve your SERP.

Google uses PageRank as a fundamental part of its search engine algorithm. Google Page Rank is a factor that Google assigns to web pages in its index.
