Blog networks still worthwhile?

So Google have openly admitted that they dislike blog networks and are actively seeking to deindex them all.

It is possible for the blog networks to be created in a way that leaves no footprint; if done smartly. However, I am now too scared to even consider the idea of using a blog network.

Of course there is the possibility of creating my own network and be smart to ensure i am not caught. But that could take a tremendous amount of time.

What do you guys think? is anybody still using a network that they feel won't ever be found by google?

Personally I would not use a blog network but I know some people still are. I think the important thing is to make sure you diversify your backlinks.

Why does anyone want to still use a Blog network and kill there own site, I dont think anyone who actually knows the real situation will use it again. But for new people who has no knowledge of what happened to BMR and all will surely fall into these networks.

I don't use public blog networks. Private networks that are done right still work great.

I did used to use a network of sites but it wasnt BMR

Im creating my sites now with the emphasis on quality relevant links rather than the more is better

I would rather have 50 highly relevant links with varied anchor text to my site than 5000 links from low quality sites which are not even relevant to my sites theme

not only that you will rank better and your link building campaign is so much easier to maintain too

True that. "Public" blog networks are out... "Private" blog networks are IN,

There's no profit in following last year's tactics. That's essentially what blog networks is.

It is still good to use blog networks...The public networks are going down because of the openness and genericness of them <===IDK if that a word lol

Find a good private network that not too many know about, has good high PR domains, and low OBL.

These networks will cost much more than your standard public networks, but the return is better in the long run.

blog networks works good if used in good manner and with all other kind of backlinks.

Google has manually de-indexed the large public networks. This scared A LOT of people off of building their own networks because of their FEAR that they will compromise there website.

I thought the other way, blog networks obviously play a HUGE role in rankings, which is why they manually targeted the big public ones.

I built my own network which has absolutely no footprint, but it does provide high quality unique content to the public and is highly beneficial to real searchers.

    The result?

Top rankings even for the most competitive phrases.

It is truly worth the effort, the first few you build may leave a footprint but as you get smart about it you will be able to run a large network of blogs for your own personal SEO.

After watching Googles reactions to blog networks, I can tell you that they will work for a long time to come.

Hi Dadamson, roughly how long did it take you to build a blog network that is actually of worth to you? And have you got any examples of how it raised your SERPs? Any information you can give on creating your own private blog network would be great as i have little knowledge.

      Thanks!

My advice to build long term success is:

    1) Build your sites for real people.

    2) Don't try to "game" the system because they will eventually figure it out and de-index you.

    3) Create multiple ways to get targeted traffic to your site, do not rely on SEO or any one thing because things can and do change.

    4) Build a list so that you own that asset regardless of what happens.

Rather than worry about blog networks or the like, guest blog for real, write articles, do social networking, post a video on video sites....offer real value to real people.

I some negative movement when they de-indexed the last lot, so I think it's a bit risky to soley rely on them.

Blog networks are still very effective and still give you tons of linkjuice and links. I think they will never die.
