Ran Page Rank Checker On My Website Something Aint Right..

Here's My problem... I went with this SEO company I found to which the girl is very nice and easy to talk too. Problem is its been almost a month now that I gave her my website with just a couple of keywords to rank me for. Now all the keyword research has been done by me split testing tools for competition.

To which the the tools have told me the keyword I have selected should be very easy to rank for. Anyway its been almost a month and I checked pagerank checker and I'm no where to be found on the 100's of sites listed!

This just doesnt add up.. Cant wait to see what my report says when I get it next month..

Any thoughts on this guys does this sound weird??

    I agree something could be fishy.

    Is this an actual SEO company? There are a lot of people out there who offer seo services and call themselves a company, but they're actually just one person who works out of their home.

    The worst part is that many of these people charge a lot of money, and then outsource the work for really cheap like on fiverr.

    Hopefully you haven't run into this kind.

    On the other hand, it hasn't been a month yet. Wait for their report before making any conclusions.

    Have you checked the serps to see where you are now? Then again in 3 days to see if it changes position?

    If you use Firefox, there is an addon that can check your site against the serps using the keywords. I think it's called Search Engine Ranking Checker.

    Yeah something just aint right...Yeah I know I have a couple of off-line clients that I played the "SEO professional" line and just out sourced the SEO work for like $30 bucks.

    But I'm doing niche sites with a good amount of keywords in the site, so it doesn't look like a thin niche site. And if its taking this long just to rank for an easy to rank for keyword how long is it gonna take to rank the other dozen sites I plan to submit??

    See where the problem is?

    btw...

    Are you just having her comment on blogs and expecting that to get you ranked? Or...are you leaving it up to her better judgement to know what to do?

    I know it probably sounds like I'm defending her but, really I'm not (yet anyway), I'm just trying to understand too.

    I mean, what is it she is suppose to do. except for ranking your site for certain keywords.

    No details where given to me as to what she is doing to rank the sites. But she is aware of all the panda updates and knows what is effective and what isnt anymore. Also I'm very aware comments on blogs etc. are not effective anymore when it comes to ranking. But this isnt someone I found on the odesk or anything.

      Well, if you weren't told what to expect, then how would you know if something has gone astray?

      One example would be if she's doing guest posting with unique content and incontent anchor linking. Very effective but still takes longer. So it might be a while before you see the effects in the serps.

      In any case, the first step you should have made was to just Ask. Come right out and point blank ask her what methods she is using and how long should you wait to see any movement in the serps.

        All the SEO guys I work with suppl you with a monthly ranking report. They detail everything that the have done, backlinks created and where you are in the SE's. If she refuses to do any of these things then you may of been conned.
        She was nice to talk to? What has that got to do with SEO? She might of taken the money and ran.
        If she does not get back to you soon find some one else.

    I should have said she sounded very professional than "nice" well I've been in contact with her ever since and shes been responsive to my emails. I'm pretty sure it will show "some type" of improvement on the report but not enough to move me up swiftly enough..
