Try to download SEO books from the web and read it. After that you need to do "data mining", You need to find big list of forums,blogs,web directories, bookmarking sites, article submission sites etc.

There are many free resources about SEO and internet marketing in general, what you really need is to take action and stop reading one ebook after the other, after all the best way to master something is by practice.

So I would advice you to start your own website or blog on a niche that you love to write about and have some knowledge, use some basic seo and social media marketing and then everything depends on you and your passion.
