Sponsored ads finally fully merged with organic listings?

There is a lot of noise about recent Google algo changes, Panda and so on.
I have read opinions from respected marketers that there would be a deliberate and unannounced strategy behind this that Google tries to make SEO as incomprehensible and unworkable as possible so website owners would have no other choice than to resort to AdWords.

Some observation I have made over the last months seems to back this up.

I am not sure but for me it seems that the visual distinction between the sponsored and the organic listings continually decreased. When some months ago there was a clear contrast between the sponsored ads background color and the white background of the organic listings, this seems to have faded away over time and when I looked today I for the first time saw the ads on a white background!
So it's basically impossible to recognize which of the listings still belongs to the top sponsored ads and where the organic listings begin.
Anybody else noticed that? Or do I have to consult an ophthalmologist?

I think you're right. The 'salad days' of organic SERPs are long over. Even Google is struggling against social media. They're doing their best to maximize every dollar they can, by any means necessary.

Absolutely, SEO fundamentally is not in Google's best interest, so it will do anything to make it unworkable/unpredictable. All these hundreds of "algorithm" changes per year are nothing but a guise to hide the fact that they are trying to make SEO lose value, so advertisers resort to paying for adwords instead of SEO.

The only way to avoid this situation is to have real competitors in the search industry. I suggest everyone use Bing.com as much as possible and tell everyone you know to use Bing. Because Google is unreliable and censors results.

Can you post a screenshot of the ads on a white background? I'm seeing a very pale peach colour.

Ok. I have uploaded a screenshot to Panoramio. You can check it here.

This is from today and I did not manipulate the image or the colors in any way.

Well, I checked again and again thought it might be my eyesight.
To verify it I used the GIMP color picker tool.
The Sponsored Ads background is "fdf7e5".
The organic listings bg is "fdf7e5".

      Hardly any contrast, is it?

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

You know what? You are right!

I got another monitor today (not because of this problem) and I can clearly see a peach color now.
Very strange for me as my other monitor is only 1 year old.
