Hello Warriors,

I have been posting the same unique article for top ten article directories with backlinks to my website and my site was hit hard by latest panda update.
Is it spamming ?

anyone else doing the same or you submit a unique article to only one directory ?
Need your wise suggestions,

IMO you should submit unique articles (or spin version) to the top 4-5 directories only.

it is perfectly fine to submit the same article to different directories, as this is what they are made for...to make your article available to publishers for them to use.....

EZine, articlebase, and goarticles....it is important to note that the reason for article directories is to allow others to use your work.....the links that you place in these directories have no SEO benefits.....posting a junk article on a directory with a link to your site for SEO juice is not helping you.

The articles I post are well written by Native English writers and am posting them just for getting backlinks. If the articles directories links are of no use for SEO link juice, then which can be better place to use my unique content ?
Web 2.0 ? Or Squido or hubpages work fine ? I got to know that hubpages backlinks are nofollow.
      Thanks for your help

Using article directories for backlinks is totally out of date and submitting the same article to many directories is just asking for trouble.

I'm sorry guys, I totally disagree...

      Article directories are still good for link building. I have seen some high ranking competitive sites using them as long as you meet the following conditions;

      1, Writing unique articles
2, Writing for leads not backlinks
3, Rotated keywords and article directory on every submit

I still feel and have always felt there is a place for article directories in legitimate whitehat seo as long as you are sincre and not spamming them to death with dupe content, you can get traffic and good links, it's not just for syndication.

The links are good because the majority (if you do it right) are http:// links and after some time you will have developed a natural deep link ratio by adding 2 other internal links, plus they are lower pagerank and just look alot more natural when done properly.

Only submit unique content that is readable and useful. As someone else has mentioned, posting junk just to attain backlinks via article sites really isn't beneficial.

using article directories for a backlink from the actual directory has zero benefit...thats not what they are for...

Submitting the same article to different directories is fine.....

web 2.0 properties such as squidoo, hubpages etc are totally different than article directories...posting the same article across several of these is not a good idea....

i would advise you to find blogs related to your niche, contact them and offer to write an article for them that that will benefit their audience, and that includes a link back to your site...build a relationship and find more people to do this for

never submit same article to more than one directory because if you submit your same article to many directories then Google will consider it duplicate content and only count 1 article or maybe hit your website hard from SERPs

What is the different between submitting same articles to several directories and some webmaster takes your articles (from the directories) and republish in their website? Will those republished articles consider as duplicate content too?

The only option is to buy some links or create your own blog network, not sure if it is cost effective though. Spinning was beautiful and very cheap in comparison.

      • Focus on creating unique posts for each article directory. Although submitting the same article to several directories won't hurt your rankings, Google doesn't want the same things showing up over and over again in search results. Writing unique articles will bring you more benefits in the long run.

Article syndication should be best used for getting Traffic only rather than building backlinks.

Just Imagine a poll that has option A and B,

Option A indeed gets a lot of votes but their comments are all the same

While Option B only gets a few votes but with unique comments

Which one would you believe more? I'm sure a 10 yr old child can tell you pretty quickly.

Google may not be as smart as most people may think, however I honestly believe it's still able to identify the exact same content from your backlinks pretty easily.

I think if you post the same article to each directory, then it would be considered as duplicate content or spam, so try not to do it. Plus some article directories have this policy that they don't even publish any of your content once it has already been published on any other directory or even if they publish it and find out that it's been published somewhere else too then automatically it gets removed, so you need to be very careful about it as it happened with me once

I found no harm by submitting same article in different directories. This is not a good source of backlinks but its a good source to get traffic.

You can spin the article to use in different article directories. A spinned content will give more value to your back links

Use unique content for each site. Google hates duplicates and spam, they see badly spun articles as spam. When you submit a spun or duplicated article and link back to you site you are claiming responsibility for that content.

It's like holding up a big neon sign and waving in front of google's face saying "I spam out rubbish content.........please slap me down"

Maybe that is a little dramatic but it's my point of view from my own experience. Less is usually more. Quality over quantity especially recently.
