Sites Slow To Index The Last 2 Weeks?

Have you tried another pinger and indexer service? Lindexer, linkcious etc.

Not tried those two. Used Pinggoat to ping the site when it was initially ready to go.

Right now Google is going through a big Panda update so that could play a role in what's happening to your site.

Google has rolled out their Penguin updates on the 04/24. I would suggest it had something to do with that... Go to google webmaster blog to read all about it...

Hi, leaving for a moment the Google Zoo updates (Pandas, Penguins, Monkeys, Hyppos and what's next?) it was became a little hard to get brand new websites on Google pretty fast.
Some months ago, before the Panda update I was able to get any site on Google in 15 minutes, but until now is not yet so easy.

All the websites who Google loves, who I created before the newest updates, as soon as I do a post it goes on Google in 10 seconds. But all the new websites and blogs are really difficult to get on Google first page.

This is my point of view.

For pings I use Pingomatic, and I recommend to insert a good list of pings inside Wordpress.

Even before Panda updates I noticed this happening. I personally find wordpress sites take a lot longer than static html sites. I try and use a static homepage which links to the wordpress blog. Also sometimes just making a youtube video and linking to the site from the description in youtube can work wonders.

i use ping fm, it can blast your new url to all the social network site they supported.

I'm noticing some extremely slow indexing too. I wonder why. Some of my pages haven't been indexed for two weeks, even though the Googlebot has visited several times a day.

dont try and force it....

its better to spend your time creating more content and writing better articles than trying to get indexed. Itbwill happen eventually and when it does you will be glad you spent the time writing :-)

I am also noticing this.I have made 3 blog in last 1 week.I normally get them indexed in a few hours of making them by posting some unique articles and using do follow social bookmarking sites and pinging.But one of my site still 5 days but no index.Have to wait more thats what we all can do.

usually takes 24-48 hours for indexing. use webmaster tools/analytics to get it done quicker.

I have to agree with Danny Cutts about not trying to force it because in this enviroment it will only backfire on you and could prevent the indexing of your site indefinitely.

OK now results from my own testing. Building a site without blocking the serps right from the beginning via robots.txt file Example:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /

Regardless of how aggressive or non-aggressive I was in efforts to get it indexed it would take anywhere from 1 week to 1 month far from my results pre-Zoogle. I am still testing and tweaking and I have put off taking on new clients until I have some consistent results.

That being said I have been able to get my last 4 test sites indexed within 24 hrs. or less with the following process, nothing fancy or groundbreaking but it appears to be effective.

As soon as my domain/cpanel is live I upload the robots file as shown above this is prior to installing WP and I might note that I have tested these on one of my reseller accounts and I create a separate cpanel for each domain.

The sites which indexed quickly had a home page of about 1,000 words or more, 4 categories with one article posted in each category 800 words minimum, each post linked back to home page using the posts main KW (home page linked to one post).

I published the post 1 per day 4 days straight, now I had ALL ping services removed from the blog side but as soon as I published a post I would bookmark at RSS Submit | Free Webmaster Tools (terrific FREE service) I DID NOT bookmark the home page.

On the 5th day AFTER publishing the 4th post I changed the robots file to allow the site to be crawled, I added in my list of ping services, I then bookmarked the home page at link above, I have the cbnet ping optimizer plugin installed so I did a manual ping through that and I have had 4 sites indexed within 24 hrs. or less using that exact process.

Note: I did not use any third-party ping services (pingoat, ping-o-matic, feedshark, etc.)

I have tested this same process only with a little more aggression to grab attention and I have not been able to replicate my success.

I tested this process with Twenty Ten theme and platinum seo plugin, Thesis theme and built-in seo, a randomly chosen free theme no SEO plugin but filled in custom fields and one other premium theme using the Yoost WordPress SEO plugin. I did not use GWT or submit a sitemap.

I must have run 20 other test sites but none of those were indexed in the 1st week.

Conclusion: Block the site from being crawled before you even install WP, populate site with 5 quality articles 800 words or longer, bookmark posts as published even though site is set to no-crawl, allow serps to crawl site on 5th day, bookmark home page and one manual ping from the blog itself.

Results: 4 sites indexed in under 24 hours

Zoogle has changed the rules but they still appear to be rewarding content and relevancy and a natural progression of backlinking.

Quick update to say that the site was indexed sometime in the last 48 hrs. No apparent reason. I had just left it alone for 3 weeks.

On a side note a site i created the week after that was indexed in around 24hrs. Nothing different done in setting up the site. In fact less content in the first 24hrs. I guess there is an element of randomness it the mix as well.
