Should I use only one keyword for my home page while building link or should I use many keywords to avoid keyword stuffing?

You should use multiple keywords related to your niche for your hope page. After Penguin & Panda updates it can be dangerous to use single keyword on homepage.

Use different variations of your keywords. It looks more natural that way
    Ex.
    - hearing aid, hearing aid for elders, hearing aid in Australia, where to buy hearing aid

I suspect that's still keyword stuffing because you keep using the word "hearing aid"

Yes, natural is the most important factor after Google penguin update, you never need to focus on keywords density too much,1%-1.5% is enough.

Totally agreed with you Stephan, this percentage is enough.Keyword stuffing will harm if done in excess. But doing variations in keyword in limit should not be a problem.

Hope Sam is clear about this now.

For a 500 word piece I tend to use my main keyword in the Title, the opening paragraph and the closing paragraph.

On top of that I like to make sure I have researched the topic well enough to have a good idea what I'm talking about. When that's the case I tend to be able to add LSI keywords without thinking too much about it.

Add the keywords to your meta title, meta description (in a descriptive way ), and the meta keywords sections as well, of course. Seems to do pretty well if you select the right keywords from the start. That really is the key!

I would say, target your main keyword and variations thereof primarily and then some other related keywords and secondary keywords secondarily.

The main focus, though, should be on the one main keyword.

Yes one should not repeat keywords in a web page. You can use more than one keyword. Keyword density should not be more than 2-3% in a web page.

You can use multiple keyword, it would be dangerous to use only a single keyword. Your website can be penalized if you use single keyword for link building.

You should focus on many different anchors especially using your domain name and the name of your website.

Bash your primary keyword in the Google Adwords keyword tool and tick the box to only get related terms, then use all of these to build links to your homepage.

That will give you huge diveristy and also deliver page 1 rankings across a range of terms, not just the main term your targeting
