Does anyone have any idea how long a Google Algo update takes?

Yup, it is pretty much finished. Where you are now, is likely where you will be. Maybe in a few weeks you might begin to move upward. But, you can wake up now.

Excellent question. Because while I'm still ranking in position # 1 or 2 on goolge.uk and Google.ca, I've dropped to bouncing back and forth from position #10 to #12 on google.com.

The SERPs are absolutely terrible now, shocking. Google need to release a new update quickly before too many people switch to Bing. They can't leave things as they are. It's not people with spammy backlink profiles who've been punished even those who did everything whiter than white are. I think Penguin 1.1 is around the corner. There's over 700 angry comments on their official blog now.

I agree with cooler1, the results for a lot of searches are still very bad. To all of the people saying things are the way they're going to be and that the algo update is over all I can say is I certainly hope not.

I can't say weather it's over or not (no one can) but I can't imagine any search engine allowing so many of the results to stay the way they are. There are still pages with no content ranking highly on page one. There are results that are completely unrelated to the search query. How can things possibly stay this way?

One thing is certain and that is that more changes are coming.

I just woke up this morning to a minor recovery... went from page 1.... to page 50+ .... now back to page 6 for my main money keyword.

Hoping it's not over and it will bounce back to page 1.

Similar results for my other websites as well. I'm going to keep praying.
