I usually hire out my SEO so I am not the biggest genius with indexing and stuff.

But I was wondering -- does anyone know a way to do it that seems pretty white hat?

    For fast indexing first of all you should do proper on-page optimization of website, create a XML sitemap and submit to Google webmaster and link building side by side on high PR website such as digg, delicious, StumbleUpon. These are comes under white hat tactics, so don't worry about it. I assure you will get fast indexing and will be safe. Best of Luck.....
