Penguin pat on the back
- SEO |
With all the talk of the latest Google update happening on here I thought I'd post some of my thoughts / findings to see if it helps shed any light on what's happening.
Firstly, I don't manage a lot of sites, but the ones I do have seen an increase in position on Google. One site which is for a music group focuses on several keywords which include local towns / villages for which I've made several individual pages for. 16 of the 18 pages are in the top 10, most in the top 5 and pretty much all of them have seen a 1-3 position increase over the last 7 days.
Another site I've just launched which is a restaurant directory for the local area surprised me the most. At the moment it has 3 entriess on it (still playing around with the layout and content) but there is published home page. It's just over 300 words and was optimised using clickbumpseo plugin for wordpress. It has an exact match (hyphenated) domain name. This has been sitting at number 16 for a few days now. It's got 1 page of contents, no adwords, no advertising, no other content at all.
I'm not sure what has happened but the penguin update seems to have worked in my favour. The clickbumpseo work was completed on the music group website and it is rated at 90% inside the plugin. It doesn't seem that Google is classing what I'm doing there as negative SEO at all?
Strange, but that's my findings. I hope that other internet experts on here realise that once the dust has settled, there will be NEW opportunities for us. If we all keep ahead of the game, we'll all pick up new work and new clients that are being left behind by other SEO companies.
Good luck everyone, very interested to see what results come though over the coming weeks.
