When I do a search for my keywords, my site is still on the first page although it has moved down.

Strange thing is the Meta description that was showing up till today was used. Now it is showing the description of my site from dmoz.org.

The words used in the description are nowhere on my site. Or in any Meta tags.

UPDATE: After some investigation, I discovered that the meta description was no longer being output in the html, so my bad. I don't know how the setting was change, I must have done it by accident. Strange though that they used dmoz.org instead of just using the first bit of content on my site.

    There is a meta tag that will fix this.

    <meta name="robots" content="noodp">

    That is if you wish for it not to use the DMOZ description.

    Google clearly states that they will use whatever description they want to use. It looks as though they are really taking it to the next level here lately. I even saw a result where they used the H1 tag as the title, instead of the title.
