So I have a web client. She'll type in her business name, and it'll just have her domain name show up, which is great.

However, I notice when I type in "nike" in google for example, that you'll have the home page show up as the first spot, and then it's sort of broken down into 6 different links, like a hierarchy.

Is that intentional? How do I get my sites to show up in google like that?

Yeh its intentional. Its the way the website is structured. The links wil probably be contact us, about us, products etc. These are all carefully chosen links. They are embedded into the structure of the site in a way where the coding tells google bots these pages are more important in the hierarchy of the site. I am just learning this. To do that you will most likely need to structure the site or atleast rewrite the sitemap.

The links are chosen by Google. You can not suggest the links, however if a sitelink shows up that you don't want, you can tell Google to not show it and it will pick another.

The links are "site links" and are generated for sites that are an authority on a subject. So, the business name SHOULD have sitelinks - and any manufacturer name or product that is exclusive to them or made by them.

From what Iv read that isnt correct. If you check the nike site, it show the product ranges as the links. Nike has obviously structured the site to place greater value on these pages so google list thems
