    Honestly i don't know, but i don't think that JUST getting the best answer is very helpful, considering how easy it is to answer your question yourself by creating 2 accounts (even if it will take a day to bring an account to a level 3 to post links).

    Depends on where the question itself is ranking.

    Being the "best answer" on a question in a buyer niche and ranking in the top 3 for a targeted keyword can be pretty valuable.

      SEO value of one selected as the best answer is the same as any answer, but for traffic it can be a boost. Too many variables to say.

      yep, I agree, I only have about 10 best answers so far with a link (you only need level 2 for links btw) and they actually bring traffic my way... go for it

    Yahoo answers are nofollow in nature so no effect on PR but may help in bringing some traffic based on in which section it was posted.

    If you mean linkjuice value, I think not much, as links are nofollowed (though they seem to count somehow), but in this regard I think there's no difference at all between being the best answer or any other one.

    As several people said, you can get some value in referal traffic from Yahoo Answers if you give the best anser, though.

    The only drawback is that this traffic tends to be short-lived. For some reason, people don't seem to look at old questions too much, they post the same questions over and over again.

    I used Yahoo answers as a traffic source for some time, and I can assure you I think I answered exactly the same question like 20 times in a week, posted by 20 different users, who preferred to just ask instead of looking if their question had already been answered.

    I got traffic from those answers, which were boted "best answer" in several cases, but quit doing that because it was too time consuming for me.

    I'm no expert of Yahoo Answers but it seems logical that any link contained within the Best Answer would be more likely to be clicked.
