Have the rules for Adsense changed?

I thought Google only allows 3 Adsense ads per page. I am seeing may websites with more than 3. Even authority sites such as EzineArticles have more than 3.

Do horizontal link units count as ads too? I see many sites with three 300x250 ads PLUS 2 small link units per page.

In the case of EzineArticles, they have 4 large ads and 2 link units. Is that allowed?

    I believe some of the larger sites have special deals with Google to display more than the usual number of ads.

    Link units don't count toward the limit, I've always had 3 ads plus 1 link unit on the same page for the past 8 years.

    I believe you are allowed 3 adverts and 2 link units. Or 3 adverts 1 link unit and 1 search box

      Where do you people get your info from?

      It sure isn't google.

      If people would read, then they would notice that
      you are allowed 3 ad blocks, 3 link units, and 2 search.

      Where anything else comes from, is not from google.

      This is why people get banned. They don't read anything
      from google. They just get some half-baked info from
      a forum or buddy, and boom...

      Google partners get a lot of perks. From better formats,
      to even declaring your own keywords.

      Now if you look closely on ezinearticles, you will see
      that chitika is one of the ad blocks. Chitika is
      close, but it must disimilar enough for google.

      Now there is a way to get dozens of adsense
      blocks on your page. It's using adsense for rss. If you
      have a blogspot blog, very easy to set up adsense for
      rss feeds. Then, voila, you can have an ad after or before
      each post. I've seen as many as 30 on some of mine.
      rss has a different TOS for the number of ad blocks.

      Here's a tip. Read the stuff that google publishes, not
      people on a forum. Yes, that includes the stuff I write.

    Hello!

    Some bigger and grander sites have special offers from Google, of course. They can get more ads than the usual sites can. But try researching more, maybe there's a special offer from Google that everyone can check out.
