I checked your site, it is not over-optimized, there is full content, images, links all are in good position.

    I just chased on-page optimization.

If you're trying to rank for rollerblading midgets then no.

If you're trying to rank for upper east side hotels then yes, probably.

Yes your off page keyword is spammed to death!!! and on page!!, did you get hit recently? you are -130 not too bad, could be salvaged I suppose...

Look who's ranking number one now, they only have the keyword once in title, not url and it appears in a meta desciption and once on page, they have zero external backlinks and there on page is target "New York", but interestingly they do have some quality internal linking set up from their .dk .uk and .se sites..See 1 PR4 and 2PR5 here

Is your site improving rank unnaturally? If it is then you can sure that its a result of over optimization.Your site will not stay its position. It'll definitely drop.

    Hello!

You just have to build more links and do some serious updating for your site. If you feel like it's over optimized, then just focus more on the contents and promotions for your site. Build quality links and unique write-ups. Less on the optimal updates then.

    Best of luck!

      Hi,

Yes it is because you have a keyword density for whole page @ 3.4%

After pinguin the optimal density for each keyword that you target should be below 1.4%.

Also try to post minimum 1000 words here (About Upper East Side) because after pinguin rich text is beneficial.

      Good luck!

    Thank you for all comments.
The off site seo is over optimized because I did link exchange with one title anchor. (almost 250 links, 30% my link is on a page with PR from 0 to 5, the rest are on cached pages)

Now I will try to deoptimize onsite and also to contact partners to delete my link.

@karismasand what tool you have used to check?

Nobody knows what "over optimized" really means. As far as I know, there is no official rule for over optimization, just common sense. If you're putting keywords on your website for the sake of search engines (when you wouldn't put them there naturally), chances are good that Google will notice this as well.

P.S. - It might be just me, but your website took an awful lot to load ~ 2.5s or so.

      Hi neowords,

I get a kick out of reading these threads where someone coins a new term like "Google Sandbox", "Google Dance" and now "over-optimized". Inevitably, we get a series of posts from frantic webmasters in a panic because they think they have been inflicted by whatever is the latest contrived buzz word.

When you think about it hard enough you realize that "over optimized" is a nonsensical term, a bit of an oxymoron. I realize that folks use it to describe keyword stuffing, links intended to manipulate PageRank, or webspam, and "over optimized" is just a new term that is being used to describe these well know spamming techniques. The problem is that the term "over optimized" is too generalized to really help anyone, because no one can know which specific technique you are referring to when you use that term, as a result, it is most often used by folks that have no idea what is happening.

Based on the common use of that term, I would say to ask yourself if the site "feels" over optimized, then at least in your perception, it is. The way that term is used on this forum, is that if you don't understand what is happening to your web page rankings then it must be the latest term to describe the rankings "boogieman". You better not spam or the over-optimization boogieman will get you!
