Lost all rankings after server move and updated homepage

Hey guys, new here but hopefully someone can help me out.

We have a website that has been ranking very well for the last 6 months, after the penguin update we lost a little rankings but they stated to come back shortly after.

We just copied over a new version of the website with several changes to the homepage (by adding a new search feature, all other content remained the same) and relocated it to a faster server in the same country last week. During the move we redirected users to a temp version of the site so we didnt lose out on sales.

In total the move took about 2 days because we ran into some problems.

When i look at analytics we have 0 search traffic from about mid way in the move, the rankings have all dropped all together or are past position 50 in Google.

Does anyone have any idea what happened and if we just need to wait or if there is anything that can be done?

Thanks!

Don't fret just yet. Things like this usually bounce back - I've had some weird things happen when changing hosting or site design.

What kind of redirect did you use for the temp site?
