Hello,

Could someone please explain the difference in a Guest post and a Blog network post like bmr, linkvana etc.

Many are telling me that guest posts are ethical and to use them, but I can't understand the difference in a linkvana subscription and paying someone for guest posts.

Could someone show me an example of a guest post as well and tell me a bit about it etc.. I am beyond confused.

Thanks

Not sure I am new here, why not just use the ppc/SEO discussion. I am pretty sure SEO includes link building. I posted here, because I am referring to a guest post which falls under SEO.

      Thanks for your time.

The difference is you are not posting 150 word paragraphs for a backlink on a high PR home page.

9 times out of 10 a real blog owner will want a guest post to be interesting, engaging and not 150 words written by some guy from Bangladesh.

So in the end they are the same just better quality and more words.

Has anyone seen any major increases in rankings due to using a blog posting service?

Thanks for your posts and time.

They are not the same at all, but good luck!

I recommend you try them out, so when Google finds and deindexes all your links, you will realize how much money and effort you wasted on it. I believe that is the only way you will understand what I am trying to say.

I was referring to guest posts. Are you saying Google will penalize / ban me for using guest posts as well? I know they will penalize Blog networks of course. But I didn't realize guest posts are now being penalized or are they? I am confused by your statement.

              Thanks

They are not necessarily more words but they are certainly better quality. In addition, they are generally closely related to the main subject area of the blog. For example, a blog on woodworking is not likely to have posts on toenail fungus.

Blog posts and blog farms are used primarily to get an anchor text link to your site (and hopefully raise your rankings via manipulation!). The disadvantage of these is that google is on to them and penalising webmasters for trying to manipulate their rankings.

A guest post should be you writing something interesting that will go on another busy real blog with visitors that might be interested in visiting your blog after reading your article.

You are never going to get traffic from a blog network, but you might if you pick the right blog to guest post on.

Guest posts are on legitimate sites looking for extra content. They are usually moderated by the webmaster and provide quality to the sites readership. They are some of the best links out there.
