PR Web release worth the extra money?

I never paid for an expensive one. To me, PR sites aren't the greatest link builders. They can be okay, but most of those sites have a lot of pages. PRWeb.com has 1 million indexed pages, so it's hard to imagine each page is passing much juice.

Most PR releases generate very little traffic on their own either. That said, some people rave about them.

PR can be amazing if the content and hype is correct!

All the best man because if you can get a PR to go semi viral you get tons of quality back links and some targeted traffic!

Hi, I am wondering the same. I took the $200 package. I have my press release scheduled for tomorrow. I am really excited about this and dont know what to expect. I believe I have something really worthy to say so I hope I see good results.

Ive read lots of great things about PRWEB from my research. If you want, I can come back in a day or two and report back on how it worked out for me. It seems to me that people who failed with a PR really didn't have anything worthy to say or it was written poorly.

Hey Josh,

I run a tutoring company. So my PR went out this morning and i've been really pleased with the results. Google, yahoo, and other news sources picked it up. When you type in my keyword, the Google News thing appears on the bottom with my PR. This is awesome.

I did the $200 package and im really happy I did. I was able to use anchor text for one of my keywords. After my PR got released and several places picked it up, my rankings shot up to the middle of the first page for my keyword that I used anchor text for (I was on the top of the 2nd page so it's not like a huge jump but it was nice nonetheless).

Are you a good writer at all? I'm a pretty good writer and I was able to make a good PR ( or at least I think it was good). PRWEB reviews all PR's before sending them out, so if its crap, they wont send it out. From what I hear, they have very strict standards. If you were able to get your PR send out by PRWEB, chances are it was well-written and grammatical.

If you look into hiring a writer, and you take out a PRWEB package, you will end up spending a lot of money. In my opinion, I would write it myself. PRWEB also offers a writing service (not sure on the prices of that but im assuming its expensive) so you might want to check that out. Just curious, what do you suggest? PR are great for companies, especially if you're trying to build your brand up.

PRWEB isn't the only PR site on the net. I'm not impressed by their prices but could serve a purpose to those who have disposable income. Another good thing to spend money on if you have disposable income is Yahoo! Directory for $299/yr.

If you want results and save money, hire a VA (or do it yourself if you have the time) and find blogs within your niche and offer to guest post in exchange for a link. Send out PR to free press release sites weekly or monthly and build web2.0 properties using fresh content that builds your brand.

And one of the most important things I would do is hit video marketing HARD. Perhaps try to make videos that could go viral. I've got videos that have over 250,000+ views and lots of comments both good and bad... and they are still going strong.

I think you could accomplish a lot more with the money, but,as I said, if you have the money to burn, why not do it? It will help.

Great answer, those are solid suggestions-all white hat too. I am an avid guest blogger and I agree with you 100%-guest blogging and web 2.0's are great. I believe those tactics are solely responsible for my rankings. The money would certainly be more well spent doing those activities for link building purposes. However, PR's are more for building your name and brand not really building links (although you can come away with some nice juicy links).

I heard the Yahoo directory is not that effective. Who still uses directories to find businesses anymore? Granted, im sure you will get a really powerful no-follow link, but for $300 is that worth it? IMO a PR is a way better use of money than using a yahoo directory.

Thanks for you comments as well. I don't have money to burn but i need to figure out ways to start getting traffic to my site so i can start selling my services. You mention VA. What does that mean? I was going to start making videos for my website. Anyways i appreciate the help!

Its very wonder for me that these press releasing sites earn a lot for submitting and publishing one press release on their websites. I never experienced them but i think they can't drive a lot of traffic and also if you want to make backlinks for your domain, there are many other high pagerank resources like social bookmarking sites or article directories that can make free backlinks for your website.

Don't use PRweb, i lost ranking of my site because of PRweb syndication, after penguin you need to avoid anything related to syndication/blasts etc.
