Hello,

I hear the term Web 2.0 Properties discussed all the time. I need some clarification so that I can be sure of what people are talking about.

If I create a wordpress blog, say dogs.wordpress.com and post 3 articles to the blog, do I have one Web 2.0 Property or three Web 2.0 Properties?

Conversely, if I create 3 Squidoo lenses under one account, say squidoo.com/golden-retrievers, squidoo.com/hound-dogs & squidoo.com/beagles, do I have one or three Web 2.0 properties?

Thanks for the clarification,
Aaron

One site is a property. Posts on that site are not.

Squidoo is a web property. Individual lenses are a tougher call. To me, they are like posts so not counted.

Either way, these are not YOUR properties unless you own the domain. You would not in either of the examples you give.

It matters because I want to be 100% clear about what people are talking about.

Having 1 account in 1 web 2.0 property/platform considers as 1 even if you posted lots of contents in that property.

Different numbers of posts in the same platform can't be counted as another web 2.0 property. Just like in when you are optimizing your site. You can post thousands of articles in there but you can't consider them as another websites. They are merely posted contents.

    • 1 sites is equal to 1 web 2.0 properties. So if you post 3 articles on that sites it count as 1 not 3.

      dogs.wordpress.com
      dogs.squidoo.com

      That's 2 web 2.0 properties.

1x web 2.0 property (plus all the webpages you created on it) = 1 virtual property

I think Web 1.0 were some of the very first types of websites that were created for the internet. These websites were static where webmasters and visitors were unable to communicate and interact with one another such as leaving leaving comments or adding product reviews online. Web 2.0 was created so that users and customers can voice their opinions online about the products, experiences, etc. It also gave consumers the ability to communicate with one another online more efficiently.
