Dear all,
Because of the important of link profile, it's worth to consider which type of url should be link to before jump to far in to building link.

So, can anyone could help me answer this question. Which version of url below I should link to when building backlinks: with http and trailing at the end. And do we need to include www in the url?

Thanks so much.

You should link to http://www.something.com/ or http://something.com/

All else being equal I would go with the shorter version because it's shorter, but if you have been doing it one way, stick to the way you've been doing it.

As far as link building goes, it doesn't matter all that much. Personally, I use the http at the beginning, as well as the www.

Yes, you should include www along with http in the URL which you link. Avoid placing URLs with mere www or mere http.

    Cheers!

    I have a similar question.

I have a domain something.com but it redirects to something.com/index where all of the content is. Should I build links for the just the domain or the index page?

Which domain you need to get rank in search engines for the keywords just provide a link to that domain. If your site is without www you can use just example.com as backlink and if your site is with www, then we have to use the full version of the url.
