If I were to start a blog, how hard would it be for me to get 10 daily viewers? This won't be a spammy blog, but a blog with decent content in a niche I am interested in. Is it rare for a decent blog to get no traffic at all?

Do all decent blogs get at least 10 viewers a day?
Thanks guys.

10 visitors per day? Although that's not all that useful, you can almost do that by accident. Just target low competition keywords in your niche and you should have very little problem reaching that goal quickly.

Most sites can easily get that just through long-tail keyword searches. I would say it is almost impossible for a site to not get at least 10 visitors per day if it has any relevant content at all.

Long tail? I would I find a long tail keyword, and how do I integrate that into my website? (Sorry, beginner)

Just put content based on long tail keywords. For instance, Travel New York can be written as Travel in New York. Do a little social bookmarking in Reddit, Digg and Delicious and promote your site on facebook and twitter. You can get more than 10 visitors a day.

You need to learn how to do keyword research. Once you master that skill, the sky is the limit. For example, instead of targeting "widgets" or "blue widgets", target "blue widgets for short people in Indiana".

Well once you find the long tail keyword you are looking for, I guess you would add that to your article right?

So I guess the kinds of long tail you are looking for would be a phrase that you could add into a blog? So for example, "red shoes not nike soccer" would be good for a search query, but a bad keyword for your blog since you cannot add that to your blog.
That would mean, I'm assuming, long tail keywords are limited to phrases that you can add to your blog title or post. Am I correct?

Well, not necessarily just to the title. A good real-world example would be something like "good laptops for a high school student". You could then make your title exactly that: "Good Laptops for a High School Student".

You could then write an article that goes over what you feel are the best laptops for a high school student.

I get about double that just from random visitors visiting my site. The site is only a couple weeks old but I have been writing content for it almost every day. I haven't even started backlinking yet

Just put some content out there and you should see 10 visitors a day. Thats really easy

Hey dalc, I started my blog on the 2nd of this month and have so far created 9 posts.
The very first day my posts started to get indexed I recieved over 10 UV's a day, now since last saturday my site has been recieving over 120 uv's a day, just to give you an idea of how easy it is to generate that amount of UV's a day.

I also am a complete noob when it comes to this sort of stuff but here's what I know and hope it helps.

First things first, make sure you go and learn as much as you can about On-page SEO, this is one of the most, if not the most important bit of knowledge you can gather.

Then have a read of this thread by nest28

Once you have done that you are on your way any more questions just ask, although as already said im still learning myself so my not give the best advice in the world.

Write something useful it's more than enough to get 10 people. But when you get 10 make it to 100 next and go on.

Write an interesting post, submit your post to top social bookmarking sites, tweet it, pin it,etc - It alone should bring you more than 100 visitors.

You have 21 posts, try to build more quality forum posts and you'll start getting 25/30 unique visits that converts too. because its targeted traffic.

By working on social media websites like Facebook, twitter, Google +, Linked in you may generate more than 100 visitors per day.. Than you would be able to generate revenue from your blog. Keep focusing on Social media and search engine optimization to get more back links.

Okay, so if getting even 100 visitors a day isn't that big of a deal, then how hard is it for your blogs to get even a dollar a day?
Or even, a quarter a day?

It's all about how much work you put into it. If your genuinely providing good content and helping your end user it shouldn't be that difficult. There's tons of variables that play into how much your going to make but just focus on your content and social media presence and the money will follow.

If you build it, they will come. If you write it, they will read it. If it's good, well, they will tweet it, like it, share it, stumble it, pin it, post it, copy it, click it, buy it, question it, digg it and comment on it. Let's write useful, meaningful content on our sites and clean the internet up :)

    • Getting 10 visitors a day is not difficult at all. Post classified ads, share your posts on social media sites, and leave useful comments on forums and blogs. If your website has quality content that incorporates the right keywords and offers engaging information, these strategies can help you get hundreds of visitors daily.

I agree with most of the others, 10 visitors isn't very difficult. Keep posting content and be involved in social media like FB and twitter to gain a following.
