What's up guys. Well I'm really thinking about pulling a trigger and starting my own blog network, so I'm looking for SEO hosting. I'm planning to have around 500 sites.
I have a few questions to you that run your own blog networks.
In your opinion what's the max. IP's per c-class I should use?
Any good companies out there? I ran into cclassiphosting, but looks like they are pretty bad, hence the price.

First, why 500 sites? Are you trying to rank a ton of sites or planning on selling links?

If you are just trying to rank a few of your own sites, you probably do not need anywhere near that many, unless you are planning on using Matt's method of garbage over quality.

Second, I would spend the extra money and just go with shared hosting. Google is not stupid. They know just like everyone else here that about the only people using SEO hosting are those running networks. If they decide they want to ruffle some feathers again, they can easily start tracking down sites using the IPs supplied from SEO hosts and do manual reviews of sites. Most of the time, people running a link network create really garbage sites. You can spot one at a quick glance. It would take very little manpower for them to do.

If you are dead set on using one though, I had a good experience with Skynet Hosting in the past.

        So called "SEO Hosting" is:

        A. A waste of IP addresses

        B. Jacked up prices for no reason

        C. Search engines don't rank based on IP address, if that was the case, EVERYONE would be using this SEO Hosting.

        D. Mainly used for people trying to game the search engines.

There are PLENTY of websites using basic shared hosting that rank just as good as those using "SEO Hosting" and their fake, shady link farms etc.

Do things the correct way and you'll have no problem.

EDIT: I remember years ago when SEO Hosting first came around, and people thought it was the next best thing since sliced bread only to find out they really don't have an advantage over their competitor using shared hosting.

You missed the whole reason the OP was looking for SEO hosting. Yes, SEO hosting has no direct ranking benefit. Everyone knows that. However, if you have 100 sites that you want to build links off of to boost another site's rankings, it is a good idea to not have all those 100 sites on the same IP. That is where SEO hosting comes in. They are generally cheaper to get individual IP's from than buying multiple shared hosting accounts.

As far as SEO hosting having some kind of ranking benefit to the sites hosted with an SEO host, I agree. There is nothing to be gained there.

Really, I think SEO hosting is a horrible name. It should have a different name.

Welp, at least this thread didn't end up in an argument. I see exactly.

It's just disappointing how it's marketed and frequently people end up paying insane prices for something that's not helping them. Somehow I missed the number of sites here.

Yeah I agree. SEO hosting is an unfortunate choice for its name. It certainly gives people the wrong idea. Some SEO hosts even market themselves as being better for SEO, which is simply not true.

I would build them out to look like actual websites, not cheap blogs.

^ Exactly. I'm not looking to rank the sites that will be hosted with SEO hosting. I guess what I'm trying to do is to create my own article directory that is related to my niche. Let's say I want to rank my cellphone review site and I have 100 web sites hosted on different c-class ips in electronics / technology niche. I create 100 articles around 300-500 words with image and videos and drip feed them to those 100 blogs at 2 / day rate. That's what I'm trying to achieve. It takes me for ever to do niche related article syndication at the moment, so I'm trying to simplify it.

Tolyz like Mike hinted at forget about the large number network and concentrate on quality. Look for High PR and keep your goals to around 50-100. IF the time comes when you exceed that then go higher but if you think that much quantity from now you are going to mess it up. No one can do 500 over say a year and not end up with crappy sites.

Remember evert public example of the power of networks has been based on links that scroll off the page and sites where you share the page with 50-100 other sites. It will probably blow your mind when you see what even a ten to twenty PR network can do for you when the links don't roll off and you share it with no one.

Unless you are only having PR2s or PR3s then going above 2 domains per Ip is pushing things. Real high PRs nothing but one on one and yeah Mike has it right also with SEO hosting - go shared.
