Penguin, Backlinks, & ABC plugin

I would like a little input on what to do about sites linking to me after the penguin update. I just checked the backlinks in WMT for a couple of my sites and I am not sure what to make of it. For instance, I have a gardening site and the top site that is linking back to me has given me 663 links on 22 of my pages. I have never heard of this site. It is in the same niche, but it is just a sales page for a Clickbank product. I have no idea where the links are located, but it seems to me they are trying to hurt my site - what do you think?

Also, I subscribe to the ABC backlink network and I think after Penguin it might be hurting to have all these links coming from sites that are not even remotely related to my niche. Thinking about stopping my subscription. But then what to do about backlinks? I am 'content' oriented marketer. I like to add fresh content to my sites, and I find that is where I focus my efforts. I will write articles for backlinks, but that is about it.

Input would be appreciated!

If 100's of those links were pointing back to your sites immediately (1-3 days) I'd honestly worry, if not, don't sweat it. Get a mix of links and don't focus on one network only for links. At least that's what I do with my sites and it works.

Adding content to your website sub-urls is key, great job, keep at it if it's a money making niche...but you definitely need to mix your linking acquisition now since you already know Panda and Penguin were real and since we both know there's more to come from Google

      hI,
me too have been getting a flood of backlinks to a network of sites.
Just wondering if you have found a solution?
My sites are quite stagnant as just used basically to get leads for my removals business so no more linking or content created much, since building them I have just tracked down an email address for Greg at Abc and submitted the message below:

      Hi Greg,
I was a subscriber to ABC plugin and submitted a network of sites some time ago.
Since the recent Google updates, I thought it wise to delete the plugin from all my sites.
Unfortunately, all my sites have dropped out of google top hundred which has had a devastating effect on my business.
I have investigated via Google Webmaster Tools, and found that I am still getting links built to my sites from totally un-related websites and feel that the only place these links could be generated from is from Abc network.
It is the same group of sites that are linking to all my sites so I am pretty sure that as ABC link network is the only one I have ever participated in, that this is where they are coming from
I just don't know how to end this.
Is there anyway you can help by removing my domains from the network and possibly withdrawing the old links, there have been over 300 just to one of my sites this month and it preventing my sites from any hope of recovery.
I would really appreciate you getting back to me on this matter.
      Kind regards"
just looking for help and advice from any-one please?
