Ok since penguin we should have variety in our anchor text. What if your keyword is orange zebra and your site url is This domain is registered

Would this count as variation of anchor text if you have

1) orange zebra
2) This domain is registered
3) orangezebra.com/

I'm not sure if it does or not since the keywords are present in all 3 instances. Can anyone clarify?

If one anchor text have massive inbound link in one page then google will consider as over optimization. So, why not use random name as username in blog commenting? Like your real name as username or your nick name as username....

    Hi Code Creative,

Yes. It does count as an anchor text variation. Because they are all structured differently. But in addition to that, you will probably want to diversify your anchor text a bit more.

Like by adding generic anchor text where your main keyword doesn't appear in the anchor text. Here's an example list of generic anchor texts you can use:

Diversifying Your Anchor Text with Generic Terms >> URL GEL, The Nearly Ultimate URL Spinner and Backlink Manager

In addition, using phrase match using long tail keywords as your anchor text with the term orange zebra in them will help as well.

Just make sure that not 100% off your anchor text has that term in it. Like by using generic phrases and terms.

    Cheers,

Any variation counts as varying anchor text. With yours I would do a lot of plain url links since your keyword is in the url. Also mix in a lot of generic also, like "click here", stuff like that.
