Chance to rant at me, image url question

All of you who would just love to tear me apart,
here's another chance. Tell me if I was wrong.

I had a pesky image ad always showing. One of
those semi-global ads I presume. Stupid ad. No matter
what I did when I views the page, I still got
the ad. Different computers, places, etc.

Thing is, I could not determine the url of the friggin
ad. Google makes this dang hard if the ad is served
by one of their servers and just has code. No way
of telling what the stupid url is. Yes, I could have
clicked. And maybe I should have. Anyway, I
searched any and all pages that may show the same
ad. Tweaked the search terms, and voila! Found one.
Then I clicked on that one. I did not click back
quick. I perused the site. Blocked the url. In hindsight,
maybe I should have clicked back quick and gotten it
to be an invalid click.

Now tell me, what would you do?

Any way of telling the url of an ad that does not have
the destination url in it? This only seems to happen
on image ads.

Google does seem to make it impossible to get the url
on some ads. You can't even guess.

Paul

Sorry Paul, are you talking about an ad you're seeing while browsing the internet yourself, or are you talking about an add on one of your own sites?

OK I believe I may have figured this out, sorry it took a while.

right click on the add you want to block > save link as > call it what you want > PUT .TXT as the file extension (this will save the html to notepad instead of a browser short cut) > open the file (in notepad) > do a CTRL + F > search: http:// > sift through the results which will include your blog url, adsense and adsence help urls but most importantly the url of the advertiser.

There should only be one such url if you are doing this with image ads.

Copy and paste it into the block form on your adsense account.

You should be able to find the same Ad listed inside your Adsense Admin/account.

Google now shows the Ads that show up on your web pages, it also shows the main URL of the Ad/site, just keep in mind the main URL of the advertiser isn't necessarily the same as the destination URL of the Ad.

Still, the Adense Admin. should give you enough info. to block that advertiser. You can block an individual Adsense Ad, or all Ads served up by that Advertiser.

I'm not logged into my Adsense now, If I remember correct it's the 3rd (out of 4) tab in the upper left corner of the Adsense admin., then the 1st link in the left sidebar.
