How long before a page ranks

I have put up a website to generate leads using the Lead Pro theme. The site has been indexed I was wondering how long before it will appear somewhere! What can I do to position myself for page #1 results. Any help would be appreciated, I have taken the plunge and am in over my head. Thanks, F.A.

    You have to start building backlinks to your site. Do a search in the forum about how to rank a site, or about how to build backlinks. You will get tons of great answers.

    How long it takes depends on how competitive your niche is and if you are able to get quality backlinks.

    It could take a few weeks to 6 months or more.

    Like jakecoop said, it depends on the competitiveness of the keyword you're targeting.
    If it's not a competitive keyword, you can rank highly without any backlinking at all.
