Would anybody explain me the importance of alexa ranking for any aspect of website marketing, including seo etc?

      It is easy to manipulate Alexa rankings, but if you don't, it is one of many gauges to see where you stand against competitors. If you are looking to buy a site, do not use those numbers because as I said, they can be easily manipulated.

      Google and Facebook are numbers 1 and 2 in the Alexa rank. We should all shoot for #1, right? Therefore how is the ranking meaningless? I have found it to be very accurate and I have been seeing my websites climb in the alexa rank for a decent period of time.

    1. For seo, search engine might condiser it when give your website a rank;
    2. For website monetization, good alexa rank can bring your more better advertisers.

    Alexa Ranking only given number of visitor who's visit your site and It's so provide keywords comparison which means particular keywords how much impact your site traffic. Alexa ranking do not have any impact in search engine ranking but it's importance for advertisers.

    Alexa just tells you where your site is standing.. It provides national and global rank of your website and also shows you how many backlinks your website have but an user can view only first 100 of those backlinks.... If any one knows better about alexa, please share here with us.!

    Recently I have monitored Alexa rank for one of my website on daily basis for three months. Your rank improves as your traffic as well as back links, but traffic is more important than back links. If you have a business website, you will find that your rank will be improving from Monday to Friday, but will decrease in holiday. Also I have found that Alexa have no impact over results in SERPs.

    I have found it is nothing to even bother about. Once you just carry on as normal with your site and continuing to help build your traffic and SEO then the alexa ranking will come

    I think alexa doesnt have that importance that everybody gives... What about people who doesnt use their sidebar? Its just an average of visitors, not all information there are reliable. But i also think google get some information from there in some way, just dont know how.

    I do agree with the fact that Alexa has importance in eyes on online marketers and advertiser but my question is “what about Google” does Google gives any importance? Will my side rank well in Google if I start building Alexa reputation?
