How Many Of You "Quit" This Month?

Well... How many of you are calling it quits and moving on to something else after all this google garbage going on?

I too took a huge hit these last months, luckily I am moving on to becoming product owner instead of affiliate, it's my next logical step.

I'm tired of plaing catch up with Google so I am selling almost all of my websites and only keeping a few good ones that I really enjoy working on.

SO I guess I KIND OF quit, but I am just moving on to the next bigger and better thing.

How about you?
#month #quit

Nope not quiting just gonna start playing by googles rules more than i was before maybe some people didn`t deserve to get in trouble after the updates but cant say i was one of them i had pretty crap content and spam links hey i deserved it.

Gonna start to write really cool content that i can be proud of and yeah of course i`m going backlink but i`ll build the backlinks myself from quality written content that adds value.

I made some good money from my crappy sites for years but i was always fighting with google now i`m going stop fighting and see what happens i mean how much harder can it be to build quality sites with quality backlinks than building spam and backlinking with spam..

Quit ?? Why there`s still money to be made sod that i ant quiting

Actually this whole Google thing with all the panda penguin crocodile blah blah blah, made me dig deeper into internet marketing. It makes me learn from the mistakes I've made in the past and to utilize that now. I'm learning even MORE within this past month than the past 11 months I've done internet marketing. I'm only getting even MORE excited!

I do not quit, because we are in technical related field, I mean SEO and IM are technical related fields to be, If you are on such fields, you should have fast "adaptability" for new changes, I was clear on that when I entered this field, so, I will not quit, as far as there are 1000s of IM guys and lots of SEO companies still LIVE

I lost over $20k in April. It sucked. But I kind of saw it coming for some time, so it wasn't a big surprise. What doesn't destroy me, makes me stronger.

I see a lot of people rebuilding right now and actually doing quite well. Others are scrambling, looking for new ways to make a quick buck. IMO the only way to become really successful is to make a lo of mistakes and learn a bit every single day.

If you're moving on to a different business model and w/e that's great. Quitting, though, is for losers. So don't quit - adapt.

    • Ive still got traffic and rankings and income, but im already sick of Googles anti-seo game. Even the good SEOs are getting hit and they admit they're just trying to keep it unstable and unpredictable for people trying to manipulate it.

Im no quitter, I'm just taking my business above google and away from reliance on such a monster.

I'm developing my own products and my affiliates can battle it out on the google game-field while they all send their traffic to me no matter who ranks #1

Not quitting, doing well actually. But I know my time is running out with my success with adsense. Its not a question of if, but when they decide to ban my account. Im following their TOS but after reading the stories it sounds like no one is really safe. What I need to do is get into other revenue stream opportunities.

Businesses award the true thinkers and action takers. If a roadblock comes along the way, you have to learn not only how to overcome it but how to avoid future roadblocks. I started with microniches, but from that we've learned how to build authority sites and how to build our own seo and article writing team. So just keep learning from what you're doing and apply it to other things.

Not quitting at all - evolving. This is a great time for people who know how to capitalize on the opportunities. Because more people are actually quitting it means less competition. That said, the truth is that most of the people that are quiting at the moment probably didn't really know what they where doing anyway, so they didn't really qualify as my competition because they where easy to outrank etc.

I had a lot of sights that I'm selling off. A lot of them have dropped in rankings and i just don't have the time or patience to work on all of them. So I am focusing on just one site, and building it into an authority site, over 100-500 pages.

SEO has always seemed a bit far out there for me. It seems like a ton of work and Google doesn't seem to like us making money the way we do so I have never been big on it. There are so many other ways to get targeted traffic for free and reasonable prices. Do you all like the work involved? I am not trying to be cheeky either I am just wondering. There are also other ways to rank high without it taking forever to do so. So yeah I quit to.

The WF skews a whole lot of things. People mistake SEO for some of
    the garbage being touted here.

    Garbage in, garbage out.

When people realize google does not need their website, perhaps
they will have a different approach. Instead of finding some
idiotic keyword, getting an EMD, barfing up a worpress site,
regurgitating BS upon BS, they might actually stop and think.
What can I truly make a site about that I actually know
something about, and can offer unique content not gotten
    anywhere else?

HAH the signature is awesome. I am young and facebook is quite the distraction.

      IN OTHER NEWS

Penguin, Panda, Pelican, Panther, Peacock, Pig, Python.

They're all the same to me whatever Google decides to do I'll prosper... Know why? Because I really don't care about Google!

I mean I do, but no matter what they decide they want to do I'm going to continue to do what I want to do.

Find something that works and make it grow, if you become complacent you've already lost.

To me what I have is never enough and if something works I need it to work better and faster. I guess I like to be one step ahead.

If you grow and allow your business to grow you'll always succeed.

      MAGIC RULE

Never allow yourself to be comfortable

    Suppose I have quit IM.

Firstly I have no passion for spending hours on end looking at a computer screen. If it is possible to make a good ROI in terms of money for the time put it, it is something I'll entertain.

In my day job I earn $30 / hour, IM ventures certainly did not result in such returns. And my day job is something I seriously enjoy. I am involved in sales and marketing with lots of face to face interaction and communication, activity that is a world away from IM. I have been dabbling in IM for 2+ years and the Google Penguin palava was not good at all. I'll look around to see if there is quick ROI but not holding my breath.

To be honest I wish I never got into all this.

I quit writing new content for my websites. I'm selling my content as Kindle books now. I'm making 15x more than I was making with Adsense. I was upset with Google after Penguin, but I guess I should be thanking them.

Ebooks are better for my writing style. LOL, some of my website articles were 10,000 words long.

If you look at how Google SERPs react to quality links, you'll see that nothing has really changed in the SERPs for ranking a page. Twelve months ago quality links outperformed low value links, same is true today.

    Relevancy + quality links.

I understand people get frustrated with SEO, but that's not going to rank a page. I look at SEO like a Chess match, no way in he$$ the other guys winning.

I had to go through the trouble of resetting my password because I haven't been on this forum in ages just to post about how much BS goes on in this forum.

As controversial as everything I may say here, this is what comes off the top of my head.

      - Every so called SEO "Guru" doesn't make anything near to some of the ballers I know.

So called SEO Guru's are the worst people in this industry, they rely on YOU to make their money, do you honestly think they would be open to saying they took a hit on this Penguin update? If they did everyone would stop buying their ****.

Every person who commented on this thread saying you can't think of a so called Guru that got hit, stop living in fantasy land, and open up your eyes. I know people with 100% White-hat sites that took a beating. Even google screws up.

      - Next point, Googles always going to be gamed, this isn't the end all of SEO. Now you "White Hat" boys who think if you build a good site you're going to rank naturally, good luck it'll never happen.

99% of you guys here don't make anything significant doing IM, if you do.. good job it's an awesome feeling. Anyway, don't believe everything you read, and honestly if you have to rely on your reputation to make over 75% of your money, you're doing it wrong.

If I'm making good money, why on earth would I want to out my **** to you guys? Guru's repeat the same stuff over and over. Honestly, I could gather data, throw the information in your guy's face and say, Hey.. I'm a guru, listen to me, buy my ****, let's be successful.

      Anyway, /rant..

I just hate how everything is so white hat on this forum, what's the difference between getting a natural link on a relevant site or buying a link on a relevant site?

I'm not going to get so involved with IM anymore. That's sort of "quitting" in a way, but it's not a nice feeling to look back and realize that the a**h***s at Google can mess up what you built over years with just one simple flick of a switch. Unless you are owner of some big brand pulling in millions a year. And don't forget they can flick that switch anytime they want, and as many times as they want.

Any real business owner will agree its pure madness to have one single company that is basically unaccountable to anyone (very troubling fact) to have so much power over your "business". The people I know who are making loads of money (more than 95% of this forum) are not into IM, that's for sure.

And ditto on the "guru claims".
