Sitemaps not updating?

I have this weird problem going on lately...
I have an ecommerce site with 1000s of products listed.

I decided to work on the meta title and meta description part for 50 of them 3 weeks back. After modifying that, I submitted the sitemap.xml to google again via GWT.

Now, even after 3 weeks, like 35 of the pages still have not been updated yet.
What could be the possible reason for that? And then, you can assume that prior to modifying the meta tags, those 50 web pages barely, barely had any content.

And the content that I added later was purely unique, no copy-paste.

Which is why I'm still confused as to why is it still taking time to update those 35 pages. What could be all possible reasons for that? I ran out of all options

    How do you determine Google has not seen the updated titles? Have the titles still not been updated in search results when you search for your pages?

    A sitemap just tells the search engines where your pages are. It will not force a search engine to visit the actual pages. They update their indexes when they are ready, not when you are ready.
