Actually, Google has a built in way to do this. On the left sidebar after you perform a search, you will see "Images, Videos, News, Shopping, etc." click on More, then on either Blogs or Discussions.

This will bring up what you're looking for. You can also do a search for "Powered By Vbulletin" or "Powered By PHPBB" coupled with your keyword to find relevant forums on the niche.

    Hope this helped!

    That's good info,

I just created our marketing/ad forum last month. It's been great, but I do get a lot of Russian Spam:

This covers almost all the top forums..

However, there is one more option that is selecting discussion when you are searching in Google.. so that it would search in discussion only..

You have many option to search like discussion, blog, videos etc.

You can also setup Google Alerts so you can stay up to date on relevant blogs or get the latest new posts in your niche so you can build backlinks or generate traffic. Just go to Google and type alerts and it will be the first result. You can set it up to email you daily or even as it happens.

Try any top level directory like Dmoz, alltop. Go to the appropriate category of your blog. You will find many top notch blogs there. The next step for you would be to find which one of them are dofollow forums.

Just use the drop-down options in Google search. (Discussions, blogs, etc.)

You can also narrow down the results by date by choosing 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, etc.
