Absolutely! You should focus on finding the quality links of your competitor and going after them, assuming your content is as good or better.

This might be just a google dance after a sudden increase in backlinks. Just wait it out and see first. You might have a keyword penalty if you did not diversify your anchor text. The new google update do not like sites that seems to target only a specific anchor text. If all your backlink anchor texts are just a single "EUR/USD forecast", it is better to add other backlinks with many different anchor text.

i do have a number of anchor around..

only this keyword became epic fail

Just wait it out and see if there is any changes. The new penguin update is very unpredictable, I have seen frequent strange changes to top 10 position of the keywords I am monitoring with every penguin update.

Now more than ever quality over quantity is important. That said, there's also a decent chance that your site is just dancing around (due to the sudden surge of backlinks) a bit before it settles. Hopefully that's the case.

Absolutely possible. its not really true that all of hte WSO will be good for every one. the WSO that you have used may not be good for you but take a research it is good for some other people. So you have to research about the WSO before you buy them,.

It's only been a few days since your first post. And on my end you're still indexed. So I wouldn't REALLY start to worry just yet. It can take weeks to settle back in to a consistent ranking after a big backlinking campaign.

Could be a dance, could be a penalty. Never only use ONE backlinking method and be careful of SEO providers who leave HUGE footprints.

As long as you are still indexed I would not worry too much just yet. The Google dance can last for a couple of weeks before it settles down. Post Penguin, the problem may have less to do with the links than it does your site content. Add an articles section and post some original content articles directly related to your intended market. Build some links to those links. Above all, strive for link diversity and mix up your anchor text quite a bit. Too many anchor text to only 1-3 keywords WILL hurt you.

It could be a number of factors. Yes it could have been the WSO, or it could have been your link diversity, it could have been on-page factors, could have been a coincidence. Could be a lot of things. I wouldn't blame the provider though.

If I were you, I wouldn't periodically buy "packages" and then expect my sites to stay ranked. You don't have to do the work yourself but if the site is important, pay somebody to build quality links consistently. Not a one-off link pyramid.

If I knew more about your site, I would give you more specific advice, but the fact is it could have been anything, and you didn't help your case buy purchasing that package.

What happend to you is happening to lot of sites, even those who didn't paid for those backlinks (but someone else did - negative seo). Surely Google will do something as this is a weapon that's being also used to hurt lots of sites.
