What Does PR MEAN? Please Explain

I am confused. What is a website with a pr 4 for instance? What does that mean? Is PR 9 better than PR 1? Someone please explain. Thanks.

The only way to see your true pagerank is via your Google Tools. Forget the toolbar pagerank - it is misleading to say the least.

page rank is just a tool that google uses to put a value to your website, the higher your PR the more valuble your site is to google. PR's are ranged from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest.

PR is a score out of 10 for your site with 10 being the highest. It is basically a trust rating or a quality rating. Recent opinions and studies suggest that PR does not greatly effect search engine rankings.
