Gettin 200 visitors a day but no clicks! Is something wrong?

Like the subject says, I am getting around 200 visits per day to my new site. Adsense is installed and configured correctly with my publisher ID (I checked carefully). What could be the reason I am getting NO clicks whatsoever? Could I possibly be blacklisted by adsense without me knowing?

    Hi,

it could be robots coming to your site....

You will know if you have taken a ban from adsense as the ads wont display :-)

if its that site in your sig maybe you need to look at the layout a bit... ditch the image ads and move them to the hotspots on the site...

so for example more the first ad block to the left of the page add some more link units and generally try and make the site more interesting to look at.

    Do plenty of testing....

I once moved an advert from the right of my site to the left and I went from only £6 a day to way over £20 a day just from doing that one thing.

    Good Luck

There could be many different reasons why you are not getting clicks. Are the Ads that are shown on your site relevate to your target audience. Ad placement can also be a huge factor on making Adsense work, so trial and error.

Just to make you feel better, I have a site that generates 600 uv's a day and get no Click through Adsense, Research is key when it comes to making money with adsense.

Yes, it's the site in my signature.
I am very confused, actually... At 2% CTR it should be at least 3 clicks a day... I am getting zero - no exceptions.

Check you are getting ad impressions. 200 views a day should be showing up around 200 ad impressions. So that would be the first thing to look at! If you have the impressions then its a case of working on your CTR which is just a testing situation try moving the ads to diffeernt places, try changing from image to text ads and see if theres a change or not!

I think visitors might be coming through automated clicking that is why you are not able to get any clicks. Try altering the ad locations

      Alexander,
I am getting very little ad impressions. But 200 UVs per day reported by Awstats. What do you think is going on?

What search terms to people use to get to your site? If they aren't buying terms, the ctr tends to be low. I have one site that is just free entertainment. It's my favorite out of mine and has by far the best quality content. It also gets good traffic, but hardly any clicks.

It caused me to redefine adsense as 'ad cents.' Just think of it that way. Your expectations will be lowered, and you won't have a problem.

Awstats always seems to have alot more UVs than Google Analytics. It must count bots as UV.

Also alot of people use adblocking software these days. Could be why you have so few impressions.

A few things come to my mind:
1 - Check what keywords are driving traffic to your site (use Analytics), and check the "competition" for those keywords in keyword tool. By competition I mean the column that KT repots. If that number is well below 1 you probably are not getting many "contextual" impressions (in favor of placement ads, and interest ads)
2 - Switch your ad to text, and test it for a few days.
3 - Enter a link unit, in my experience the CTR is higher (many times at the cost of a lower CPC)
4 - It's possible that the visitors of your site have "low commercial interest". I have many niche sites and one small social network. The CTR of the niche sites is about 20x higher that the CTR of the social network.

What is stat tracker do you use? Most of stat tracker only catch real visitor not robot.

Statcounter, GG analytics catch only real visitor but statpress plugin also catch for bot.
