Anyone Pushing the Limits of Penguin?

I am just curious if any of you are testing the limits of the Penguin Update. I have a couple of test sites, and have found that you can get away with a little more than Google would like you to think. Have you guys found any loopholes or shortcomings?

This forum does not deal with blackhat. Doing loopholes and shortcuts only makes Google stronger and smarter. Why not do ethical things that you will never have to worry about being shut down?

I am not talking about "black hat", I was making reference more to "changes" that haven't actually had any effects. The purpose is to better understand Google's Algorithm. How can you be an "expert" without conducting controlled tests?

Since no one really knows what Penguin is I guess were all pushing it. No one on this nor any other forum has figured out Penguin. It will take time and effort. When we finally figure it out Google will come out with Polar Bear or something else.

theseoproz My appologies. I saw the words loopholes and shortcomings and just assumed. I think guest posting, syndication and social interaction are still the most effective natural ways that Google still likes. Manipulating the strength of your site is what Google loves to block. All of those backlinks tools are why Google keeps becoming harder to beat.

Exactly. I've been working in the area of SEO and backlinks for several years and it seems that so many people want a 'push button', quick solution for getting backlinks and I think these are the same folks who were penalized severely by these updates.

NO offense & correct me If I'm wrong, wasn't you selling the easy push button backlink list in the past?

Wasn't push button at all, unless you call manually creating profiles as "push button".

            It was totally push button!
            1. Insert links
            2. Push button

Do you really believe people used those list to manually create backlinks?

I smell uBot Studio or Zennoposter this is what Paul Johnson uses. (i think)

Either way I could still create 150 high pagerank forum profiles per day semi-automated, plus a few high pagerank blog comments. Not taking advice about anchor text variation is what got me bitch slapped, but did I care anyway? It was only a bunch of spam, I probably deserved it.

Now I have my own bots post penguin, should be fun, there's nothing that can compete on this level.

That's obvious, or else you would know that many top WSO's of The Day teach black hat methods.

True to it all. Panda seemed to reward greyhat and in Penguin it seems to have corrected.

dont link to your own site. ALwyas link to web 2.0s' with quality content.

that's how I've been working around it successfully and it seems LOTS OF OTHERS too when i check random niches

Penguin is an anti-spam filter. It does this by analyzing a site's backlink portfolio. If the site has poor keyword diversity, it gets penalized. Read about report here: Penguin Analysis: SEO Isn't Dead, But You Need to Act Smarter | Microsite Masters

I've managed to get a lot of sites out of penguin by sending out mass amounts of phrase match, URL, and generic backlinks.

Others have gotten ok results with 301 redirects.

Also, the press release for penguin stated it "took care of" some common on-page blackhat techniques... lol. I still do it and get away with it.

The rule with blackhat is that you have to make it look like normal use ;-).

Originally the Penguin update has ensured that artificially inflating the number of links to an article will no longer ensure a higher search engine ranking. However, you can expect that more natural links to your articles will now have greater link juice than before...

so it think google made it so "offlimits"

After Panda i pretty much gave up on Google, and started looking for other alterior (and legal...and effective) ways to get traffic to my site. I suggest looking into other ways to rank high in google without using google or optimizing your site directly for it. And dont forget about Bing and Yahoo!

I've been doing some testing. One thing I've noticed: more than one link from the same site seems to have become a very bad thing!

One important thing I just found that really suits this penguin update:

I've tried to forget all technical aspects in writing contents for my site and for other web 2.0 properties. What I have done is that I just wrote contents that users would understand thoroughly and I have just provided what they want.

The outcome is that I've got a lot of backlinks from those contents considering I didn't blast them with links. I just shared them to social networks and other communities.

My website profited from the power of viral sharing eventually.

Now, my source is simply the Google Webmaster Guidelines (quality guidelines section).

So the important thing I learned in this update is that, stop wasting your time in finding loopholes because at the end of the game you will still end up crying. Start targeting the "real deals" (users).

You will see the big difference with those who prioritize first the users than those who focuses too much in beating the competition in the SERP.

The latest version of ZennoPoster MP got a feature to recognize an article/page main category. It is called Context recognizer. According to updates of Google filters this feature never was a more timely.

ZennoPoster seems like a popular tool. I was looking into buying it but don't have time learning new software right now. Is there a place where you can buy templates already setup to do tasks, like getting facebook likes?

Till now there is no special market, but on the forum there are offers (in marketplace) from experienced clients who sells their bots. They also accept custom ones.
