Selling Web Themes and Templates.

Assuming the quality of the Web themes, templates, and squeeze pages are quality, why are people selling on places like ThemeForest, Woo Themes, etc.?

I was hoping to use my PPC skills (or lack of skills - LOL) to sell direct to my site, but now I am starting to panic. Is there no way to compete with these sites? What do people know that I don't?

You can sell your themes through your own site just fine, other theme designers are using theme forest and other marketplaces because they already have the targeted traffic.

simples: Sell where the money is! Themeforest etc have tons of traffic and people looking for themes - unless you are doing an elegantthemes.com style membership for a bulk amount of themes otherwise themforest is great - and hey PPC will be too - if you get good conversion and find the right keywords
