As i heard before Google Penguin updates 3-way backlink is the best backlink to get PR and Google Ranking also. But now in panda it is against Google algorithm.

What you think about it. Should we do it or not. please share your opinions.

    For better ranking and page rank, one way backlink is best rather than reciprocal or three way link exchange so always promote website in natural way.

      You are right. One way back link is best for optimization. 3 way link exchange can be good but depends on site as well as link quality.

        I would comply to that but what matters in a three way link exchange is the similarity of theme among all the link involved in a link exchange.

    three way link building is one method of link exchange. we can more chances to lose the traffic through this way. so don't follow this way. Most free sources are available an internet to get valid back links.

      I did an interesting experiment with one of my client's site. We created 1000 pages of unique content and supplied no backlinks to the site. The site reached PR 4 in 1 year.

      I tested another site by providing contextual backlinks while adding some unique content. The site went from PR0 to PR4 in 3 months. This was done right after the domain was registered.

      Google values both content and backlinks quality, not just links count and linking structure.

      The key here is to be able to create unique content and quality backlinks in a scalable way. This is why I stay away from black hat software.
