Hi, I don't have much experience with adsense as most of my previous sites are ecommerce stores. I'm currently using adsense and skimlinks for a forum getting around 6K+ uniques per day. I'm only making $15-$20 per day. Is this considered low or is this average? Should I experiment with other types of advertisements such as Amazon? What do you guys think?

Do forums convert less than blogs? I've been looking at this thread and it seems like he is getting around 5600 uniques and making "a lot" more than us.

I think a lot of it depends on the type of market your forum is aimed at. Gaming forums, such as mine are very hard to monitize.

This is oh so untrue. Forums are known by very low CTR, because you have the same traffic and the same people every day that visits forum on a daily basis for a discussions, and they became ad blind very fast. Forums are tend to have CTR much lower than 1 %.

I will second that, i have noticed previously that forums convert a lot less than blogs as forums are mainly returning visitors (if your forum is popular) whereas blogs a user comes to for info, grabs the info and then leaves (hopefully through an affiliate link) and will only generally come back if they Google more information and come across your website again. Sounds like a good amount if i am honest

That actually seems pretty good for a forum. A lot of your traffic will be return traffic. And eventually the frequent visitors will become blind to the ads. Blogs & websites are a bit different since the traffic is usually pretty unique.
