Which is more effective SEO or PPC?

both are effective because seo or ppc are just the way to bring targeted visitors that will be turned into money in your websites. So, you can't tell which is more effective, just the method is different, one will cost you time while the other will cost you money. Which one do you have? Take SEO or PPC.

For some sites it would be a godd idea to do both SEO and PPC. At the beginning most traffic will come from PPC, but when the site gets good positions in SERP, you can stop doing PPC and rely solely on organic search engine traffic

Personally, I've never been able to convert a PPC user. Organic traffic has been much more effective for me. YMMV

Note: I'm not saying PPC users don't convert—I just haven't had any luck yet.

Both are useful and money making, if you know the best technique of using this. If you have money to start PPC then you need to do some experiment for finding best way. On the other hand you have to wait for some days of getting profit from SEO. But it is most reliable and longer lasting way of getting potential traffic. I mostly depends SEO.

As far as i have concerned, SEO is effective and unpreventable method to promote business. PPC method are handled only by Small, Medium, and Large Scale Industries. But Micro Scale Industries target thier market with low budget. and so prefer SEO and also achieve their short term Goals effectively. So i vote for SEO.

SEO is effective in the long-term as yo need to be in the top 5 or 6 rankings for any decent traffic from organic search... no shortcuts about it.

PPC very effective both in short-term and long-term ... in fact traffic is more advantageous when you are listed both in the top few organic results as well as the ppc ads.

It depends on your monetization. If you are doing something like adsense - then PPC will be tough (and potentially against TOS)... if you are selling a product that has good margins then ppc can be great. So... like a lot of things in business, it depends.

PPC can be a very expensive way to start out. I have tried several things including Facebook Ads. Even if the visitors are very targeted you need to be sure, that the conversion rates make the effort worth! You need to test with several campaigns just to find out those campaigns will not make a good ROI. Let me recommend SEO in the beginning. I'm only earning money with organic traffic by Google. In the beginning start tracking keywords with low competition until you learn how to rank your sites well on Google.

Both methods are effective. If you want fast results, PPC is the way to go. SEO generates long term results, but it takes longer to attract targeted traffic. It all depends on your budget and marketing goals.

Both are the effective method of marketing. We can get good result through both the methods. The only difference between this two is that PPC is a paid method while SEO is a free method because If we have knowledge of SEO then we can do it from our end with paying any money.

It would depend on your resources. I still think that both are the best use of your time and money, though. If you're looking for something fast, go for PPC. If you're looking for something that has long term effects, go for SEO. The first one needs money, while the latter needs time. I really wouldn't compare them in terms of effectiveness. They're both good in their own ways, in my opinion.

I wish I had more money for PPC, but even SEO can be costly if you don't know how to do it and you want people to do it for you. Either way it could cost you, so as people above have suggested I say both are necessary.

The consensus here is that SEO is long-term and PPC short-term and I agree with this but some companies use PPC all the time.

In our industry a Toyota dealer will post Toyota Hilux ads and Ford dealer Ford Ranger ads online. It is the same as in offline world. A car dealer used to put ad in newspaper, radio and TV but now also places ads on the Internet. Online dealers get as many customers online through PPC as they do via searches driven by good SEO.

PPC is fast, but why does it need to be short term? You can just keep your successful campaigns running and check them every once in a while to make sure everything is going OK. And you are not susceptible to Pandas, Penguins or any other type of animal.

It all depends on ROI. This is a business. Whatever brings you the best ROI, stick with it.
