HONEST advice?????

Hello,

I am confused by all the conflicting information I find on this forum...

I would LOVE for someone who really knows what they are talking about to answer a few quick questions for me and for EVERYONE trying to do SEO in 2012...

please PM me if the answer would be better left unseen

1. Is/are there ANY blog networks that are:
a. safe to use
b. produce results

I have tried:

ALN 2.0 and SEOdestiny...wasnt able to measure progress/results with either...

2. What is the BEST way to build BULK backlinks? I am competing with sites that have 100,000-1,000,000 backlinks...I have tried:
a. dripfeedlinks.com(low quality crappy blog spam with obl in the thousands)
b. dripable.com(low quality crappy blog spam with obl in the thousands)
c. scrapebox
d. senukex

3. Edu Blogs...I have purchase several EDU blogs and edu blog packets...so far none of my rankings have increased for any of the sites I've used them with AND one of my sites moved from page 1 to page 2...this was the only factor that I changed....

Do edu blogs help??? Am I being impatient???

I sincerely hope that atleast a few WAR ROOM members ping in here...

      Google is looking for the following:

      1) Unique IP growth diversity
      2) varying anchor tags
      3) Link type diversity

      I would not use article directory network or any black hat software since they fail at these 3 key factors. After Penguin, you need a new strategy.

        ^^This. Furthermore, you need to think quality. Links from web 2.0s, quality blog comments, press releases, etc. Essentially, you want contextual links as they have the most link juice.

        Always keep building links.

          You are absolutely correct. I am getting the best result from unique article contextual links with varying anchor tags. I need fewer links to achieve rankings with them.

    The best advice I could give would be to stop building links for the sake of influencing your rankings!

    Build a link because it will send you TRAFFIC - do this enough times and you'll have a steady/stable source of income that Google can't F*CK with and you'll most likely get more love from Google in the long term anyways.

    Any paid/automated backlink sources are not going to send you any traffic. It may seem like a lot more work but take it from someone who lost a full-time income basically overnight - don't waste your time trying to game the engines. Spend that time/money on building relationships, building referrals and creating stuff people actually want to see.

    There is absolutely NO public blog network that is safe from Google. Yes, there are some networks that haven't been targeted yet, but that does not mean that Google will not hit them in the future.

    People need to realize that it's incredibly easy for Google to take down a network. Heck, I could take down a network in a week if I was subscribed as a member. All you'd need to do is track where your content is sent, and then gather all the outbound links from the domains that host your submitted content. In a very short period of time, I could unravel even the largest blog networks.

    You still have good options though.

    1. You could build your own Network. (of high pr domains)

    - This would take some time and cost a bit of money initially. But once built up, could actually save you a ton of money in the long run. As well as a whole lot of hassle.

    2. You could build up a network of web 2.0's

    -Google considers subdomains as entirely separate and unique domains. For that reason, they could never penalize all web 2.0 subdomains. If you built up a network of web 2.0's, you would be safe from being Google blasted.

      Thanks for the great advice! I considered setting up my own blog network but couldn't find a reliable place to safely buy aged or PR domains; everywhere I went had sites with faked PR and there were even a few that passed the Google PR checker, but they must have been 301s because in no universe were these PR9 websites...

      Any suggestions???

        Check out digital point forums. They have a sub section on domains, where people are constantly buying and selling. It also has a seller rating feature which is similar to Ebay. So if a seller has a high rating and no complaints, you can rest assured that you will probably not be ripped off.

        Two other things...

        You can use the .info command to see if a PR is real or fake

        Google search: .info:www.testwebsite.com

        Then check out the first result.

        If it's the same website, then the PR is real. If it's a different website, then the pr is being redirected.

        And finally, make sure that you check out the backlinks portfolio of any domain that you consider buying. Just because a domain has a PR4 now, does not mean it will in the next update(s). Take a look at the backlinks and decide whether or not they look permanent or temporary.

            Congrats man. That sounds really cool. Don't be afraid to monetize your PR4 domain (especially since it's related to your niche). You'll be able to recoup your investment in no time

              Congratulations on investing in your online assets and success with the purchase of your PR4 domain name

              Private blog networks definitely still a greaprovide us with the best ROI (time & money vs ranking increases) of any other linking method out there and they come with the added benefit that you own them!

              As for monetization of your private network, we do monetize them but never use the same affiliate or monetization code as the main money site. That is just to make the site more unique and keep it looking like we dont own it.

        You can always hunt around expireddomains.net that's what I use to build my network. It takes a while to have a niche related site with pr (usually not higher than pr2) and backlinks come up.
        Since you're just buying expired domains you don't have to pay anyone a premium for them. So it's cost effective. I don't buy domains that were dropped more than 24 hours ago though and only buy ones with pr, backlinks (be sure to check them to see if the pr makes sense) and alexa rank is good. Then I setup the blog immediately and leave it up for a week or 2 to see if it drops out of search engines because Google picked up on it being dropped. With any of the domains you purchased be sure to use a who.is blocking service.
        Other than that I'd definitely stop worrying about buying bulk links. don't buy .edu it's not natural and you don't only have to build links for traffic, but make sure they're quality links.

    If you over use link building services, of course you are going to have poor results.

    No single service can provide everything that you need--you need to use different tools responsibly in concert with one another to have the best results.
