I've never heard or keyword scout, but if you're looking at building niche sites, I strongly suggest Long tail pro. You could also combine Google keyword tool and SEOmoz.

Nothing beats manual.. Computer generate analysis has its flaws. I don't say that I never use automated keyword tools but nothing beats a good old-fashion-manual hunt for them.

Manual won't search 800 keywords in less than 10 seconds and spit out an exact match domain keyword with 8100 exact monthly global searches...

I liked ultimate niche finder better than long tail pro. I tried them both.

Long tail pro didn't allow the use of proxies in the software when scraping data. Ultimate Niche Finder did. This resulted in a drastic increase in speed for UNF. I'd suggest getting your own proxies. I had public proxies I bought, and used in UNF that worked great.

But to answer your question about UNF vz KS, Im new to keyword scout, and it has potential, but also has some flaws, and incorrect results. keyword scout also has many more data options it can scrape and display: inurl, intitle, etc... I like how KS opted to give the actual numbers in their data, rather than a color coded (hard, easy, moderate) result in the rather light competition analysis UNF has.

Keyword scout also allows the use of proxies in scraping, its fast with purchased proxies. You can also harvest proxies with keyword scout

I've used Keyword Scout, not UNF. But I completely satisfied with keyword scout working.

Keyword scout has worked well for me. Also SEO moz I tried. I also do some manual searching as well. Seems really the most accurate.

I just purchased unf. I also set up an acct with death by captcha. The proxies have loaded on the settings page but not on the proxies page and my search is saying I'm out of proxies. I have only done one search with 800 results. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

I am using UNF and getting some long tail keywords plus using google trends to search those traffic keywords.

I don't know about Keyword Scout but Ultimate Niche Finder is a great piece of software to do keyword research with.

What it does is it first fetches the normal 800 suggestions that GAKT normally gives but then digs deeper and fetches another 800 for each of the first 800 suggestions.

This way you can get huge number of keywords in no time and even get competition data on the keywords since there is a competition module included in the Ultimate Niche Finder.
